The move which hinges on the potential swap deal of Armenian attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from the Manchester club is turning into a never-ending saga.
According to the Independent, Jose Mourinho, manager of Premier League club Manchester United, has offered Sanchez a contract that will keep the Chilean Winger at the club until 2022, while being paid a staggering £400,000 a week, making him one of the highest paid players in the English League.
They are also ready to pay his agents’ fees of around £10m, which Manchester City and Chelsea refused to pay.
Among a few reasons that Arsenal favoured United’s offer over City’s was because Mkhitaryan was put forward as a replacement.
