A 7-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a minor boy twice here in Bengaluru on January 3.
According to police, the boy who is 14-year-old entered the house of the girl when there was no one at home.
It is learnt that victim and the minor boy hailing from north Karnataka are neighbours, whose parents work in a garment factory. On the day of molestation, victim’s parents had left for work and the grandmother who was taking care of her had gone to her hometown.
Under the pretext of playing with the girl, boy entered victim’s house and sexually abused her.
“As the mother knocked on the door, the girl took nearly 10 minutes to open the door. The mother was shocked to find the boy inside the house, dressing up. This aroused suspicion and after the boy left she questioned the girl, who narrated the incident to her. She also told her that this was the second time the boy had done this. Later, the mother filed a complaint based on which the boy was picked up,” the police said.
A case has been registered under the provisions of the POCSO Act by the Peenya police. Both the boy and the victim have been subjected to medical tests.
