Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the Monsoon session of Parliament as a “Vijay Utsav” (Victory Festival), celebrating the Indian armed forces’ resounding success in Operation Sindoor, which he said achieved its objectives with 100 percent precision. Speaking to the media before the session began, Modi lauded India’s military might and the swift strikes that dismantled terror hideouts across the border in under 22 minutes.

He commended the multi-party delegations that visited several countries post-operation to expose Pakistan’s direct involvement in terrorism. The prime minister expressed hope that MPs from all sides would echo the national sentiment in Parliament with a unified voice, reflecting strength, unity, and pride in India’s defence capabilities.

Modi emphasized that the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam had shaken the world and brought renewed global attention to terrorism and its epicentre. He asserted that Operation Sindoor not only shattered terror camps but also showcased the power of Made in India defence technology to the international community.

The PM also addressed the decline of naxalism, describing how once-violent red corridors are now transforming into green growth zones. With a tone of conviction, he stated that many districts formerly under naxal influence are now breathing freely under the protection of the Constitution.

Highlighting India’s economic turnaround, Modi noted that while the country was once among the “fragile five,” it is now on the cusp of becoming the third-largest economy. He also praised the recent achievement of astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who became the first Indian to fly the tricolour at the International Space Station, calling it a proud moment for every citizen.

Asserting that peace and development have marched forward together over the past decade, Modi expressed confidence that this Monsoon session would serve as a platform to reinforce India’s unity, strength, and progress.
