Narayan Maharaj of Shri Kshetra Narayanpur in Purandar taluka passed away on Monday, September 9, at the age of 85. He breathed his last in the evening due to old age. Maharaj was a revered spiritual leader residing at Datta Mandir in Narayanpur, where he was lovingly known as ‘Anna.’ His passing has left his large disciple base across Maharashtra deeply saddened.
Devotees will have the opportunity for a final darshan at the Narayanpur temple on Tuesday, September 10, from 8 am to 2 pm. His funeral rites are scheduled to take place at 4 pm near Yajna Kunda in Narayanpur.
Narayan Maharaj was known for his extensive social work, particularly in promoting community activities. He was a leader in advocating for community marriages, spearheading de-addiction movements, and organising village-wide farming initiatives through his disciples. One of his greatest contributions was establishing four Dattadhams across India, with the one in Narayanpur being a prominent centre for devotion.
His passing has left a deep void among his followers, who continue to mourn the loss of their beloved ‘Anna.’
