Opposition Congress-NCP have slammed the Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra government, which completed two years on Monday, saying it is the regime of all round failures.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde of NCP attacked the Fadnavis government accusing it of being a “selfish” government which is interested in taking selfies only.

“What kind of a government is this? It did not provide loan waiver to farmers nor did it give good price for agriculture produce. It also failed to stop farmers’ suicide,” alleged Munde.

He further said the government had failed to provide reservations to Marathas, Dhangars and Muslims.

“Law and order is at its lowest ebb, the common man, especially women, are not safe and also the police feel insecure,” he charged.

“There is chikki scam, degree scam, mid-day meal scam… still all ministers get a clean chit. Infants are dying due to malnutrition, farmers are committing suicide and teachers demanding their rights are beaten with sticks,” Munde alleged.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil of Congress claimed that the Fadnavis government in the last two years had taken state on the downhill.

“The government is not serious to issues concerning common man including farmers. This regime is very fast in spreading social disharmony. Fadnavis government is ranked number 1 only in protecting corrupt ministers and farmers suicides,” he further alleged.

Vikhe Patil said the government had failed to fulfill people’s expectations.

The previous Congress-led governments had created good atmosphere for foreign direct investment (FDI) so the state was always numero uno in the industrial field. However, in the last two years, the situation had reversed, the Congress leader alleged.

Devendra Fadnavis had taken oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister on October 31, 2014. Later Shiv Sena, which had snapped ties with BJP before the 2014 Assembly polls, had joined his government.
