Digvijaya Singh to call for state-wide agitation demands BJP candidate's arrest in murder case 2

Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh continued his sit-in agitation outside a police station here for the second day on Sunday to demand the arrest of a BJP candidate in connection with the alleged murder of a Congress worker on election day. Congress’s Digvijay Singh launched the sit-in protest in front of the Khajuraho police station along with local Congress workers and leaders on Saturday.

A person, identified as Salman Khan, died during a clash between BJP and Congress workers in Rajnagar constituency in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh when the assembly elections were held in the state. The Congress leader also claimed that Pateria has been changing his statements since the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh earlier said the case was being investigated and action would be taken accordingly. Singh said there will be a state-wide agitation if no action is taken in the case.

He launched the sit-in protest in front of the Khajuraho police station along with local Congress workers and leaders on Saturday. Singh, along with Congress MLAs Alok Chaturvedi and Vikram Singh and other leaders, stayed overnight in a tent outside the police station.

According to the police, Khan was run over by a vehicle. Police registered a case of alleged murder against Arvind Pateria, the BJP candidate from Rajnagar constituency, and some other persons late Friday night. Madhya Pradesh BJP chief V D Sharma had claimed that Khan’s death was an accident.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday morning, Singh said an FIR was registered against 20 people in the case but none of the accused have been arrested so far. Even the vehicle used to crush Salman was not seized, he said. The Congress leader said Khan’s family and he himself believe that justice cannot be done under the BJP government.

By now, at least one person could have been arrested or at least one or two vehicles could have been seized, he said. “Had it been anyone else, bulldozers would have used it to demolish the property of the accused by now,” he said. Singh claimed BJP leaders and the government want the case against Pateria to be withdrawn, but it will not be allowed to happen. It was not an accident, but a murder, he further claimed. If the administration does not take cognizance of this case and no proper action is taken, the agitation will spread across the state, Singh said. People from other parts of the state are also reaching here, he added.

5 workers killed, 3 injured in central Mexico after 50-foot tall scaffolding tower collapse 4

The collapse in central Mexico of a 50-foot (15-metre) tall section of scaffolding on a road project killed five workers and injured three, officials said Sunday.

The workers were pouring cement into a huge form on what appeared to be a highway retaining wall, when the form and the scaffolding gave way Saturday, plunging the workers to their deaths in a tangle of metal and wet cement. The Transportation Department said the accident happened in the central state of Hidalgo, and that all personnel on the site had been pulled from the rubble. The structure was being built by a private contractor, and investigations were underway into the cause of the collapse.

Work site safety is generally weak in Mexico.

"Rohit has been an exceptional leader": Rahul Dravid hails India captain after loss to Australia in WC final 6

Head coach Rahul Dravid lauded India skipper Rohit Sharma for displaying outstanding leadership abilities and demonstrating his dedication to leading by example throughout the ICC World Cup 2023 tournament. Despite being the marquee event favorites, India were thrashed by Australia, who won their record-extending sixth 50-over World Cup with a six-wicket triumph.

The bulk of the supporters gathered at the Narendra Modi Stadium, wanting to see the host nation end their decade-long wait for an ICC trophy win. But it was Australia that came through on the big day. After a fast-paced powerplay, the Australian bowling attack collaborated to bowl India out for 240.

Rohit was also praised from all corners for his aggressive batting approach, which helped India set the tone early in the game and throughout the tournament. “Yeah, I think he’s been an exceptional leader. You know, Rohit’s really led this team fantastically well. I think he’s certainly got the dressing room. I just think he’s given so much of his time and energy in the dressing room to the boys. He’s always been available for any of our conversations or any of our meetings. Sometimes there’s a lot of planning and strategy that goes into it. He’s always been committed to those things. He’s put a lot of his personal time and energy into this campaign. And his batting as well; I thought it was fantastic, the way he set the tone for us,” Dravid said in a post-match press conference.

“We knew that we wanted to play a certain way. We wanted to play a positive attacking brand of cricket. And he was very committed to doing that. And he wanted to lead by example. And I thought, right through the tournament, he was quite superb at doing that. And yeah, I just can’t speak more highly of him as a person and as a leader,” he added. Dravid also expressed sympathy for the players and emphasized the sacrifices and efforts they made to reach the World Cup final.

“The boys are disappointed. It wasn’t. Yeah, there were a lot of emotions in that dressing room. It was tough to see as a coach, because I know how hard these guys have worked, what they’ve put in, and the sacrifices they’ve made. So, it’s tough. I mean, it’s tough to see that as a coach because you get to know these boys personally. You get to see the effort they put in, the hard work that we’ve put in over the last month, and the kind of cricket we’ve played. But yeah, that’s sport,” Dravid added.

“That happens. It can happen. And the better team won the day. And I’m sure that the sun will come up tomorrow morning. We’ll learn from it. We’ll reflect. And we’ll move on, as will everyone else. I mean, that’s what you do as a sportsman. You have some great highs in sport, and you have some lows in sport. And you keep moving on. You don’t stop. Because if you don’t put yourself on the line, you don’t put yourself in games like these, and you don’t experience the great highs. And neither do you experience the great lows. And if you don’t do that, you don’t learn,” the India coach said.

Mumbai Police registers case against Chota Shakeel's aide Riyaz Bhati for threatening witness from jail 8

Mumbai Police has registered a case against Riyaz Bhati, a close henchman of underworld don Chhota Shakeel for threatening a witness in an extortion case. The complainant alleged that Riyaz Bhati and his close aides kept threatening him from June 2022 to November 4, 2023, and told him not to go to the court to testify, and if he went, he should testify in favor of Riyaz Bhati, failing which he would face death. The complainant said that the aides of Bhati had threatened to kill him.

Based on the complainant, Khar police registered a case against accused Riyaz Bhati and his close relatives under sections 195 (A), 506 (2) and 34 of IPC (Fabricating of false evidence, Criminal intimidation, Criminal conduct with common intention) and started further investigation. Riyaz Bhati, who is also an aide of Mumbai’s underworld Don Dawood Abrahim, was arrested by the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch from the Andheri area in connection with the extortion case lodged at Mumbai’s Goregaon Police station.

Riyaz Bhati was named in the FIR against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in an extortion case. “Riyaz Bhati’s name is also mentioned in the same FIR which has been registered against Param Bir Singh in an extortion case”, the police had said. Police alleged that Bhati used to collect money from bar and restaurant owners and send it to suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze.

Earlier, Rehnuma Bhati, estranged wife of Riyaz Bhati had also filed a complaint alleging rape and molestation by her husband Riyaz Bhati in Mumbai’s Santacruz police station.

Ubhaya Bharati: Most scholarly woman of Hindu civilisation

Ubhaya Bharati: Most scholarly woman of Hindu civilisation 10

I am blessed to have scholarly gurus who add a lot of understanding to my spiritual path. They teach me the Vedas, Upanishads, and also about great perceptions, discussions, and debates by ancient sages. Which is called “Shastrartha”. Today morning, my Guru asked me, “How are you?” And I replied, stating “आनन्दकन्दमनिमेषमनङ्गतन्त्रम्”. Just to indicate that I am happy and fine. These are the verses from Kanakadhara-Stotram. While explaining to me how this Stotram originated, he spoke about Anang or Kamdev, and then the discussion went on to a great renowned scholar and debater, Saraswati, who bears the title Ubhaya Bharati, and her learned husband, Vishwarupa, also known as Mandana Mishra. He also spoke about the famous philosophical debate between Mandana Mishra and Adi Shankaracharya, with Ubhaya Bharati, who was considered the incarnation of the Goddess Saraswati, acting as the impartial mediator.

Around 1,200 years ago, there was a learned couple in the region we now know as Mithila in Bihar. Mandana Mishra and his wife, Ubhaya Bharati. They were highly educated and followed the Vedic way of life. They were married homemakers who performed the rites and rituals designed to establish a household and make gods, sages, and ancestors happy. They lived in harmony with nature and culture. They followed the Mimansa school of thought, an inquiry into the soul. The best way to identify their house was to look for parrots, kept outside in cages, discussing issues on ontological and epistemological realities associated with the Vedas. Adi Shankaracharya was directed by another scholar, Kumaril Bhatt, to go and visit this very special couple. When Mishra first saw Shankaracharya, he became upset. Shankaracharya was a recluse and as per Vedic household rules, the face of a hermit is ominous on certain days. Later, however, he prepared to accept Shankaracharya’s presence.

In the deliberations that followed, Bharati was made moderator. It is said that both men were exceptionally brilliant, but the garland around Mishra’s neck started to wither, for his body was starting to get agitated and angry. Though he was as intellectual as Shankaracharya, Mishra was not humble with his acute wisdom. Therefore, he was not as calm as Adi Shankaracharya. This led Bharati to declare Shankaracharya the winner over her husband. Adi Shankaracharya was impressed by her fairness. But she asked him how he could claim to have complete knowledge of the world, contained in the Vedas, if he was a bachelor and had never experienced sexual pleasure. Until he understood kamashastra, or the sensual arts, he could not consider himself to be fully immersed in Vedic wisdom. This created a dilemma.

This is how Adi Śaṅkarācārya was made to experience sensual philosophies. Ubhaya, being a married woman, poses questions about kamakala, the sensual essence of human lives. Adi Śaṅkarācārya tells her that he has no experience in this side of life and learnings. She asks him to seek knowledge and come for debate. Shankaracharya then trained himself in the tantric secrets, enabling him to leave his body and enter the body of a dead king called Amaru in Kashmir. Through the reanimated body of Amaru, he experienced sexual pleasure. On returning to his original body, he met Bharati and explained how he understood kamashastra. Shankaracharya is said to have written a very famous collection of erotic verses called Amaru-shataka, but we prefer to study Shankaracharya as a metaphysician rather than an expert in the erotic arts.

After attaining this experience, he discussed erotic principles with Ubhaya-bhāratī, but without hearing his discussion, she blessed him and assured the continuous existence of the Śṛṅgeri-maṭha. Bharati then happily declared Shankaracharya to be the greatest Vedic scholar. She then took leave of material life. Afterwards, Maṇḍana Miśra took the order of sannyāsa from Śaṅkarācārya and became known as Sureśvara. As far as Matsya-tīrtha is concerned, Ubhaya-bharati then took leave of material life and she walked her way with Adiguru.

This story was composed 500 years after Shankaracharya died. It is quite possible that these are based on local folklore and may not have ancient legitimacy. However, this particular story draws attention to very interesting ideas. We have tensions between the householder arm of Vedic Hinduism and the hermit arm of Vedic Hinduism. There is also tension between the Vedic way of thinking, which values the mind, and the tantric way of thinking, which values the body and the occult arts. We are made to realize that Shankaracharya was an expert, both in the occult and the metaphysical aspects of Hinduism, making him the winner.

If this was just folklore, then we can sum up, saying this episode was limited to this point only; if not, then it is surprising to find no traces of Ubhaya Bharati after this prevalence. Bharati was a scholar herself; what must be the reason that she gave permission to her husband to turn into a hermit? Was becoming a hermit superior to being a husband? By making the hermit superior to the husband, the woman’s position is made mediocre. In the ascetic and occult traditions of India, the female position is always inferior and female biology is considered inferior to that of the male. It is ironic that Shankaracharya is said to have established Sharada Devi as his personal deity. This goddess holds a parrot in her hand, which is a symbol of Kamadeva, the god of love, desire, and sexuality. She also holds a pot in her hand as well as a book, making her an incorporation of Saraswati, Laxmi, and Gauri, goddesses of wisdom, wealth, and the household, respectively. Though Shankaracharya was a hermit, he was made to appreciate both women’s and householders’ lives. He even broke the rules of ascetic order when he returned to his village to perform his mother’s cremation, indicating the value he placed on motherhood and womanhood. However, his followers chose to reject the female completely.

It is time for us to take notice of Ubhaya Bharati, who taught Shankaracharya that wisdom cannot exist without including the household, the body, and the woman. This also gives a strong message that, ages ago, women were given that position to judge the scholars. Ubhaya Bharathi was the daughter of Vishnu Mithra, who resided on the banks of the Sona River. Bharati is the only woman arbiter in a debate, as mentioned in Hinduism. This also indicates the position of women in Hindu civilization. When it comes to talking about significant female figures of the Vedic era, five names—Ubhaya Bharati, Ghosha, Lopamudra, Sulabha Maitreyi, and Gargi—come to mind. But still, these figures have limited portrayals.

Benjamin Netanyahu faces battles on multiple fronts amid mounting calls to free hostages

In the midst of escalating pressure to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces a multifaceted battle. Families and supporters of the nearly 240 hostages marched from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, demanding government action and expressing frustration at the limited meetings with Netanyahu, CNN reported.

Gil Dickmann, a relative of one of the abductees, urged the Prime Minister to prioritise the hostages’ safe return, saying, “Right now, in Netanyahu’s current political situation, this could be a real victory for the state of Israel.”

As Israel’s war in Gaza extends beyond six weeks, public opinion is turning against Netanyahu. Despite widespread support for the military campaign against Hamas, polls indicate a decline in favour of the Prime Minister and his coalition. Opposition leader Yair Lapid called for Netanyahu’s resignation, emphasising the loss of public trust. However, he stopped short of calling for new elections, suggesting that Likud should present an alternative leader.

“We cannot allow ourselves to have a prime minister who has lost the public’s trust, whether from a social or a security point of view,” Lapid told Israel’s Channel 12, according to CNN. Efforts to reach an agreement for a ceasefire and the release of hostages have faced challenges. Negotiations involve contentious issues such as the duration of a potential pause, the number of hostages to be released, and Hamas’ demand for an end to Israeli drone surveillance over Gaza. The Israeli government’s attempts to ease conditions for Gaza’s civilian population have drawn criticism from within Netanyahu’s right-wing coalition.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich criticized the decision to allow fuel tankers into Gaza, claiming it contradicted the views of the governing cabinet. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir argued against providing “humanitarian gifts” to the enemy while hostages remained unvisited by the Red Cross. Some families advocate for an “everyone for everyone deal,” proposing an exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. The families leading the campaign have tried to remain apolitical, but many blame Netanyahu for failing to anticipate the October 7 attack by Hamas. They accuse him of prioritizing judicial reform over security preparations, considering the breach of Israel’s security contract with voters. Despite the tragic outcome for some, there remains hope among the families for the return of their loved ones.

Criticism of Netanyahu’s perceived lack of empathy and failure to take responsibility for security lapses has grown. Accused of spending more time with troops for photo opportunities than addressing past failures, Netanyahu faced backlash for blaming security chiefs for not warning him about the impending attack. While expressing support for the security heads, he refused to answer questions about taking responsibility for the October 7 security failures. Many, like Asher Elyahol, one among the those marching on Saturday, express a desire for change, hoping for a new government once the war concludes and hostages are returned, CNN reported.

Cricket World Cup 2023: India is geared up to hold the world cup

The world’s biggest cricket stadium is now ready for a massive win. The tournament is being hosted by India. It started on October 5 and is scheduled to conclude on November 19, 2023. If this World Cup’s most commanding team takes down five-time World Champions Australia, it will be the perfect finish for the hosts. Indian cricket has administrative and financial muscle but the coveted ICC trophies have eluded them for more than a decade. Ahmedabad could see India ticking the final big box. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present, along with Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles.

India is geared up to hold the World Cup. The Western Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) will run six special trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, Central Railway will run 16 special trains between Mumbai-Mangaluru and Mumbai-Karmali to clear the extra rush of Christmas and Winter 2023. The two teams that did battle 20 years ago in the summit clash at Johannesburg, and incidentally, the two semi-finalists who lost at the 2019 World Cup eight consecutive wins followed and here we are—the grand-finale of a Cricket World Cup—and truth be told, you can’t think of two more deserving teams than India and Australia to fight for the biggest honor in cricket.

Indians are glued to television and all eyes will be on the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The India vs. Australia match is scheduled to start at 2 pm and will be available on live streaming and live telecast in India. This will be the second time India and Australia will clash in this edition of the ICC ODI World Cup. The two teams played each other on October 8 and India won by six wickets.

Australia was bowled out on 199 before KL Rahul and Virat Kohli rescued India after a top-order collapse. India ended the league stage with nine wins out of nine matches and then beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-finals. Centuries from Kohli and Shreyas Iyer in the semi-final helped India post an imposing 397/4 before Mohammed Shami’s seven-wicket haul ended New Zealand’s innings at 327.

"Shinde govt itself illegal, immoral…": Aditya Thackeray on FIR against him over bridge inauguration 14

Lashing out at Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde after an FIR was registered against him for illegally inaugurating the Delisle Road Bridge in Lower Parel, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray said on Saturday that the government and the Chief Minister himself are “illegal and immoral.”

“I think what is laughable is that this government itself is illegal. So who are they declaring illegal? As a result of my tweet, they opened the metro to the public… It is my constituency but I didn’t say that we did this or that they did this. I just said that the CM who is illegal and immoral has no time for the public for such projects. So, we should open this to the public,” Aaditya Thackeray said.

“I find it amusing considering I am the local MLA. Is it not within my purview to inspect and inaugurate a bridge?” he said. “If they are filing a case against me, I am ready for it. This is for the public, and I will continue to fight for people. I will not let them go to Mumbai,”, he added.

Earlier, Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also lashed out at the government and said that a case had been registered against Aaditya Thackeray for doing something that the illegitimate and corrupt government should have done long ago. “It has been registered against Aaditya Thackeray for doing something that the illegitimate and corrupt government should have done long ago. There is a bridge that has been long-pending and long-delayed in terms of construction. It has caused a lot of problems and inconvenience for the people of Mumbai,” she said.

The case has been registered at NM Joshi Police Station under sections 143, 149, 326, and 447 of the IPC. BMC officials complained to police that the work on the bridge is still pending and the bridge was inaugurated by Aditya Thackeray and others on November 16.

In a post on X, Aaditya said: “The full bridge is ready for people to use; it has been almost 10 days that the other side has been ready and waiting for a VIP to inaugurate it. We inaugurated it last night and today, the BMC, under the pressure of Khoke Sarkar, has closed it down again, waiting for a government inauguration, only to trouble the citizens of Mumbai. Why can’t it be thrown open for the people instead of waiting for the guardian minister’s ego and convenience? Open it!”.

Delhi's 'Very Poor' air quality persists with AQI at 398 on Sunday morning 16

The National Capital continued to experience “very poor” air quality on Sunday morning, with an air quality index (AQI) of 398. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR-India), the air quality index in Delhi was recorded at 398 at 7:15 am on Sunday, categorizing it as ‘very poor.’

As per the Central Pollution Control Board data recorded at 8 am, the AQI in Anand Vihar was 336. Similarly, at Alipur, the AQI was recorded at 363, at ITO, it was 329, and at Bawana, it was recorded at 371—all falling into the ‘very poor’ category. Following a slight improvement, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on Saturday.

The decision was prompted by the city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 319, as reported by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Although Stage IV restrictions were lifted, Stages I to III of the GRAP will persist in the entire NCR to prevent AQI levels from worsening to the ‘Severe’ category.

The CAQM, in a release, said that in view of the significant improvement in the average air quality of Delhi-NCR, the Sub-Committee for Operationalization of Actions Under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) met today to review the current air quality scenario in the region as well as the forecasts for meteorological conditions and air quality index made available by IMD/IITM and also take an appropriate call on the stringent actions under Stage-IV of GRAP already in place in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) since November 5, 2023. “While comprehensively reviewing the overall air quality parameters of Delhi-NCR, the Sub-Committee observed that yesterday (i.e., November 17, 2023), Delhi’s average AQI clocked 405, which started declining and showing improvement since the late evening of November 17, 2023. Further, the air quality forecasts by IMD/ IITM also do not indicate any steep degradation in the overall air quality of Delhi-NCR in the coming days,” the release added.

Moreover, as per the Central Pollution Watchdog, the present AQI level of Delhi is around 322 (very poor) recorded at 2 pm on Saturday, which is about 128 AQI points below the threshold for invoking GRAP Stage-IV actions and preventive actions under all stages up to Stage-IV are underway, so there is a likelihood of sustaining the improvement in AQI. “The forecast by IMD/ITM also does not indicate any further steep degradation,” the statutory body said.

“Various agencies responsible for implementing measures under GRAP and Pollution Control Boards (PCBs) of the NCR and DPCC have also been advised to ensure strict implementation and intensification of actions under Stage-I, Stage-II, and Stage-III of the revised GRAP in the entire NCR. Further, the Commission appeals to the citizens of NCR to cooperate in implementing GRAP and follow the steps mentioned in the Citizen Charter under GRAP,” it added in the statement.

The murder mystery of 2006 got resolved in 2013 by Mumbai police

The murder mystery of 2006 got resolved in 2013 by Mumbai police 18

In March 2006, a partly decomposed body was found in the high-security zone of Raj Bhavan. This was the semi-nude body of a youngster. There were huge slums in the adjoining areas, which also added to the security concerns for the police. While watering the plants, Mali (the gardener) noticed this body and informed the constable on duty at Raj Bhavan. On March 6, 2006, around 8 am, State Reserve Police constable Sarjerao Patil called constable Dattatraya Lad, who was on duty at the lower gate of Raj Bhavan and showed him a “bundle-like” object in the sea. It was a body with an ‘OM’ tattoo on its head. The police retrieved the body and a complaint was registered. The body was mutilated and enfolded in a blood-stained bed sheet and plastic paper. The body was identified and the police had the names of the suspects but the accused could not be traced. With the probe hitting a dead end, the case turned cold—until a tip-off 13 years later.

The Malabar Hill police then went through the missing persons’ list in those days. They were trying to seek all the information from other police stations along Mumbai’s coast to identify the victim. They also released details of the body and a photograph in the media. The media published the news in local newspapers and soon after, two men came up to the police and identified the body as that of their brother-in-law, Ransingh, alias Karan Singh Valmiki. The people who approached the police station were his relatives. The police started probing the relatives and friends.

During the initial probe, Ransingh’s brothers-in-law said they suspected Satpal alias Chhanga Valmiki and his brothers, leading the police to visit their native places. However, they failed to locate the accused, and with no further leads coming up, after three years of investigation, the police filed a closure report. The magistrate accepted the report and the case got buried in the files. See how sometimes we shut something down and the solution comes up randomly? Thirteen years later, in October 2019, the police were issuing non-bailable warrants and summoning known criminals to detain or extern them ahead of the Assembly elections when they got a lead that the accused in the 2006 case had become overoptimistic, were regularly visiting their native places and that one of them had arrived in Faridabad, Haryana, with his wife.

A special team of officials was immediately posted. They arrested Satpal from Krishna Colony in Faridabad and he gave them co-accused Tejpal, alias Babaji’s, address in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. The duo was booked on charges of murder, common intention, and destruction of evidence under the Indian Penal Code. During the investigation, the police came to know that there was a fight between the deceased, Satpal, Tejpal, and their three brothers, who were staying in Mumbai, as they refused to return the money he had lent them. Satpal was financially well-off and others just arrived in Mumbai to make their living. Ransingh, who took money from Satpal, was impolite. As a result, Satpal lost his calm and killed Ransingh.

Tejpal and Satpal not only killed Ransingh but chopped and dumped his body in the sea and fled Mumbai. After this murder, the accused went on hibernation. For a few years, the police tried their level best to trace these two people but they were not traceable. When the case got closed, they both became careless and started visiting their village frequently. That’s how the police got the lead and both the accused were arrested and kept in Mumbai jail.

From Malabar Hill to Cuffe Parade, there is a huge slum. These slums are spread over 28 acres, with more than 70,000 residents staying here. Most of them are from northern India. These huts are on encroached lands. These poor slum dwellers stay in one of the plush localities of Mumbai, which is Malabar Hill. They might have lived in poor living conditions for many years but the SRA projects offered them better living conditions. Daily fights, conflicts, and illegal activities are common here. The marginal population is Maharashtrian, but most of the other population is from other states of India. Most criminal cases go untraced because the accused fled to their native This overpopulated slum is full of criminal activities and challenges the Mumbai police.
