The sense of pride and patriotism cannot be quantified. Nationalism is evoked by people more than anywhere else, but especially in India. And there is nothing better than a movie that makes the audience feel the deepest love. Producer Shankar Naidu Adusumilli is excited about his upcoming movie “Bharateeyans,” which he says will deliver “impactful and jaw-dropping cinema to the audience.” Dr. Shankar describes himself as a proud Bharateeyans (Indian) and considers it an honour to be Bharat Mata’s son.

On various occasions, he has expressed his love for India, and this movie is said to be a tribute to Hindustan. The forthcoming Hindi film is written and directed by Deena Raj and has an ensemble star cast including Nirroze Putcha, Subha Ranjan, Sonam Thendup Barphungpa, Samaira Sandhu, Peden O Namgyal and Rajeswari Chakraborty in lead roles.

The first look of the film was unveiled earlier in 2022, and it promises to evoke patriotism. The film’s storyline has all the emotional chords that will make the audience feel proud of their country, India. As per the sources, “Bharateeyans” has a perfect dose of love, action, drama, and patriotism in abundance.

When asked by Dr. Shankar to shed light on the film, he said, “The primary reason behind producing the film was to tell the audience a power-packed story.” The film will show how an ordinary person can turn into a warrior to safeguard the country. In addition, Dr. Shankar Naidu Adusumilli went on to say that the neighbouring country, China, is the biggest threat, wanting to encroach on the land and change the map of India.

Furthermore, the producer expressed his rage over the recent coronavirus pandemic. Holding China responsible for the virus leak in the Wuhan lab, Dr. Shankar stated that the deadly virus has killed millions of people across the globe. Another reason is that the producer is miffed after China killed 20 soldiers in Galvan Valley in June 2020.

With the right emotions and patriotism, “Bharateeyans” will be the first film to confront China’s aggression and wrongdoings against India. Produced under Dr. Shankar Naidu Adusumilli’s banner, Bharat American Creations, the film is slated to release soon.

Complaint on Kharge, Kejriwal for 'inciteful' remarks on President Murmu 3

A complaint has been filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and others for allegedly making “inciteful statements” citing the caste of President Droupadi Murmu regarding the event of the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

The complaint has been filed by Vineet Jindal, a Supreme Court advocate. “The statement has been with the intent to promote enmity among communities/groups and trying to create distrust for the Government of India to fulfil their political motives which are an office under sections 121, 153(A), 505 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” the complainant has alleged.

It stated that the alleged statements given by Kharge and Kejriwal have been made intentionally, to refer to the “caste” of the esteemed President of India with the objective of portraying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the present Government have “deliberately not invited” the President for the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

These statements are widely published and circulated in news and social media and would result in provoking the ST and Adivasi community as our honourable President to belongs to Adivasi and ST community, the complaint further stated.

It added that such statements made by influential political leaders on the ground of caste and against the duly elected government to promote enmity among communities/groups are highly condemnable.

“The political leaders just for the sake of their political gain should not be allowed to stoop to the level of disgracing the highest constitutional posts. Besides, it would cause fear in the community creating distrust against the duly elected government, which are offences under sections 121,153A,505,34 IPC. which are cognizable offences and very serious in nature,” the complainant stated.

The complainant has also requested the Delhi Police Commissioner to lodge FIR and take strict legal action against them.

Mamata Banerjee apologises to people for blast in illegal firecracker factory at Bengal’s Egra 5

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday apologised to the people of Egra area in Purba Medinipur district of the state for a blast at an illegal firecracker factory, in which 12 people were killed and many injured.

The Trinamool Congress supremo, who reached Khadikul village in this area, 11 days after the blast, also said the incident could have been averted if the state had received proper intelligence inputs.

“I will bow my head down to you and apologise for the incident (blast at the illegal fire factory on May 16)… Had intelligence worked properly then this blast could have been averted,” Banerjee said after distributing compensation cheques to relatives of those killed and injured in the blast.

She also handed over appointment letters for jobs as home guards to one member each from the family of those killed in the May 16 blast.

Stating that two members from the family which owned the illegal factory, have been arrested, Banerjee urged the villagers to keep the local police informed in case they find any other illegal fireworks units operational.

The Bengal CM was accompanied by state chief secretary H K Dwivedi.

The Trinamool Congress supremo’s visit to Egra assumes significance as three back-to-back explosions linked to illegal firecracker factories have taken place this month, ahead of panchayat elections. The dates for the village body elections, however, are yet to be announced.

After the blast at Egra occurred on May 16, three members of a family were killed in an explosion at an illegal firecracker unit in South 24 Parganas district’s Budge Budge on May 21.

The Calcutta High court had last week refused to hand over the blast case to the NIA as sought by the leader of the opposition and had asked state CID to continue with the probe.

Nitish Kumar slams Centre over new Parliament building, says 'no sense' to attend NITI Aayog meeting 7

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday slammed the Centre over the construction of the new Parliament building and said that there is ‘no sense’ to attend the NITI Aayog meeting and the inauguration ceremony of the new building.

Talking to the reporters in Patna, Mr Kumar said, “What was the need for a new Parliament? The earlier building was a historic one. I have repeatedly said that the people in power will change the history of this country.”

On May 28, 2023, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new Parliament building, which is part of the Central Vista redevelopment project.

One of the highlights of the event will be the installation of a historic golden sceptre, called Sengol, near the Speaker’s seat.

The Sengol is a symbol of India’s independence and sovereignty, as well as its cultural heritage and diversity.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar also said that he will skip the NITI Aayog meeting today held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“There was no sense in attending the NITI Aayog meeting today and the inauguration of the new Parliament building tomorrow,” he added.

PM Modi will chair the eighth governing council meeting of Niti Aayog on Saturday on the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India’ theme at the new Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

As the chairman of NITI Aayog, PM Modi will preside over the meeting.

Kerala’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot won’t attend the NITI Aayog Council meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Saturday.

CM Gehlot has cited health reasons for not attending the meeting, while CM Vijayan has not given any specific reason for his absence.

Other than him, Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab’s CM Bhagwant Mann, Telangana’s CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, and West Bengal’s CM Mamata Banerjee are expected to skip the meeting on Saturday.

PM Modi will deliberate on issues related to health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development, with an aim to make India a developed nation by 2047.

“Eight prominent themes will be discussed during the day-long Meeting including Viksit Bharat@2047, Thrust on MSMEs, Infrastructure and Investments, Minimising Compliances, Women Empowerment, Health and Nutrition, Skill Development, and Gati Shakti for area development and social infrastructure,” the NITI Aayog stated.

It added, “The Meeting will see the participation of Chief Ministers/Lt Governors of all States and Union Territories, Union Ministers as ex-officio Members, and the Vice Chairman and Members of NITI Aayog”.

PM Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla will lead the inauguration ceremony of the new parliament building on Sunday, May 28, which will be dedicated to the nation.

‘Game is over’ for cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan: Maryam Nawaz

'Game is over' for cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan: Maryam Nawaz 9

Maryam Nawaz, Senior Vice President of PML-N party, has told Imran Khan that the ”game is over” for the cricketer-turned-politician following an exodus of his party’s senior members.

Maryam made these remarks on Friday while addressing a convention in Pakistan’s Punjab province. During her address, she also talked about the incidents on May 9 — the day on which the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief Khan was arrested, triggering violent protests countrywide.

Maryam, the 49-year-old daughter of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, told PTI Chairman Khan that the ”game is over” following an exodus of his party’s senior members.

Over 70 lawyers and leaders from the party have parted ways with the PTI so for following the May 9 mayhem. Top PTI leaders – including the party’s Secretary General Asad Umar, former information minister Fawad Chaudhry and former minister for human rights Shireen Mazari – have resigned.

Taking a jibe at the PTI over leaders’ mass departure, Maryam said that there were ques of those quitting the party.

The PTI leaders’ exodus started when the security forces launched a crackdown against the party following the attacks on the civil and military institutions.

“How will the people stand when the leader himself is a jackal?” she criticised the former prime minister, who was removed from office via a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly in April last year.

“Your people are revealing that Imran Khan, 70, is the mastermind of May 9 (incidents)” she added.

The PML-N senior vice president said that Khan was the mastermind of the May 9 “terrorism” but his workers are facing anti-terrorism court.

She said that Khan took his wife, Bushra Bibi, to court covered with sheets but he used other women as vanguards. Khan and his wife were covered with white sheets as they arrived at the Lahore High Court on May 15 in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Maryam said that the May 9 incident was an ”attack on Pakistan Army”, adding that the former premier was being assisted by his ”facilitators”.

On May 9, violent protests erupted after paramilitary Rangers arrested Khan from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) premises.

His party workers vandalised a dozen military installations, including the Lahore Corps Commander’s House, the Mianwali airbase and the ISI building in Faisalabad in response to Khan’s arrest.

The mob also stormed the Army headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi for the first time.

Police put the death toll in violent clashes to 10 while Khan’s party claims 40 of its workers lost their lives in the firing by security personnel.

Thousands of Khan’s supporters were arrested following the violence that the powerful Army described as a “dark day” in the history of the country.

Exercise linked to higher pain tolerance – new study

Many benefits come from regularly exercising, including stronger muscles, lower risk of disease and improved mental health. But a recent study suggests that exercise may have another unexpected benefit: it might make us more tolerant to pain.

The study, published in the journal PLOS One, found people who regularly exercised had a higher pain tolerance compared with those who hardly exercised.

To conduct their study, the researchers used data from 10,732 participants who’d taken part in the Tromsø study – a large study on health and disease that was conducted in Tromsø, Norway. The participants were aged 30 to 87, and just over half were women.

Every participant was assessed twice, eight years apart. During each assessment, they answered questions about their physical activity levels and took part in a cold pressor test. This is a common method used by researchers to induce pain in a laboratory environment. Participants place their hand in 3 degree Celsius water for as long as they can. The longer they keep their hand in the water, the greater their pain tolerance.

The researchers found that the more active the participants were, the longer they could keep their hand in the water. In fact, those who were categorised as being very active were able to keep their hand in the water for 115.7 seconds on average compared with 99.4 seconds for the least-active participants. The researchers also found that participants who stayed active or became even more active were able to perform better on average during the second test compared with those who remained inactive.

It’s worth noting, however, that over the eight years between assessments, everyone became less tolerant of pain on average. This change was roughly the same for everyone – whether people were couch potatoes or avid marathoners. But active participants still had higher pain tolerance compared with inactive people, despite this decrease. It’s uncertain why people became less tolerant to pain over time, but it could be because of ageing.

However, we must be cautious when interpreting the findings. Assessing physical activity via self-report is tricky business as participants may be tempted to report they’re more physically active than they are in reality. They may also have trouble remembering their physical activities, which can lead to both over- and under-reporting.

The participants were also only asked about their physical activity over the last 12 months, leaving the remaining seven years between assessments unaccounted for in the analyses. This means someone may be classed as sedentary despite having engaged in vigorous physical activity for seven out of the eight years. Such cases may skew the results and lead to a misinterpretation of the outcomes.

Still, this study joins a growing body of research which has shown the benefits of physical activity on pain tolerance.

Exercise and pain Given these results, it’s interesting to speculate how physical activity may affect pain tolerance. While we do have some ideas why this link exists, we’re still a long way from knowing the complete picture.

One possible explanation for this link could be due to some of the physiological changes that happen after exercising – such as exercise-induced “hypoalgesia”. This essentially refers to a reduction in pain and sensitivity that people report during and following exercise. A good example of this is the runner’s high, when the body releases its own opioids, called endorphins. These hormones bind to the same receptors as opioids, producing a similar pain-reducing effect.

Yet endorphins are only part of the magic behind the runner’s high. Research suggests the endocannabinoid system has similar effects following exercise. This system is a vast cell-signalling network, comprised largely of endocannabinoids and their receptors. These are neurotransmitters produced by the body that are involved in many processes, including regulating sleep, appetite and mood.

Research also suggests they can help us tolerate pain better. Studies show that exercise can increase levels of endocannabinoids, which may in turn improve our pain tolerance overall.

But pain is not a purely physiological phenomenon. It’s an experience, and as such, is subject to our psychology as much as our physiology.

It could be argued that exercise brings with it some level of pain – from stitches and muscle aches to that burning sensation you feel when trying to squeeze out that last rep.

Because of this, exercise has the power to change the way we appraise pain. Exposing ourselves to these unpleasant experiences during a workout can help build resilience – our ability to function in the face of stressful events, such as pain. Physical activity can also build self-efficacy – our belief that we can do certain things despite pain.

Physical activity also improves our mood, which in turn makes us more resistant to pain. Furthermore, exercise helps us learn how to distract ourselves from pain – such as when we listen to music while running. Regular physical activity can help us overcome fear of pain and movement and allows us to be prepared for the experience of pain. Unsurprisingly, many of these techniques are used as the basis for pain management techniques.

While there are still many questions that future research will need to answer, this research reminds us just how beneficial exercise is to us – even in ways we wouldn’t expect. These findings may also add to a growing body of evidence that argues exercise may help manage chronic pain.

I made few technical changes ahead of NZ T20 series after T20 WC: Shubman Gill

I made few technical changes ahead of NZ T20 series after T20 WC: Shubman Gill 12

In the midst of a golden run, Shubman Gill feels working on specific technical areas and a minor tweak before a T20 series in New Zealand post the T20 World Cup in Australia, has worked wonders for his game.

For the record, Gill wasn’t picked for the global event in 2022 as the Rahul Dravid coached team went with Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli as its Nos 1, 2 and 3 in the batting line-up.

Gill, who has been panned for his strike-rate during earlier editions of IPL, has confirmed an ‘Orange Cap’ with 851 runs and three hundreds in the 16th edition, which has taken Gujarat Titans to its second successive IPL final.

On Friday, Gill sent Mumbai Indians bowling attack on a leather-hunt, hitting 129 off 60 balls as Titans comfortably won the second Qualifier by 62 runs.

”From the last West Indies tour (2022), I think I have shifted a gear, I got injured before the last IPL but I have been working on my game. I have worked on a few areas and made technical changes ahead of the NZ series after the T20 World Cup,” he said at the post-match presentation.

Three hundreds in a single IPL edition is only second to Virat Kohli’s four in the year 2016 when RCB last played the finals. The former skipper had scored 973 runs, which is still a record.

”I think this was probably my best innings so far in the IPL,” the 23-year-old Punjab man said.

Asked how he deals with the expectations, Gill said: ”Expectations are something that follow you outside the ropes, but once you step on the field it is all about trying how to contribute for the team.” Gill said starting well is the key for him to score big.

”For me, it is playing ball to ball, over to over. The over where I hit three sixes gave me the momentum to go big. That’s when I realised it could be my day.

”It was a good wicket to bat on as well. Not a conscious decision, you keep inventing as a batter but for me the belief is more important. I am coming off a good international season as well. Had a good season last time as well. When I start well, I feel confident I can score well.”

No documented evidence on ‘Sengol’ being symbol of transfer of power by British to India: Cong’s Ramesh

No documented evidence on 'Sengol' being symbol of transfer of power by British to India: Cong's Ramesh 14

According to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, there is no proof that Lord Mountbatten, C. Rajagopalachari, or Jawaharlal Nehru ever referred to the “Sengol” as a sign of the British handing over authority to India.

He further said that Tamil Nadu’s ceremonial sceptre is being used for political purposes by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his drumbeaters.

The ‘Sengol’ will be installed close to the Chair of the Lok Sabha speaker after the new Parliament building is inaugurated by Modi on May 28, an event 20 Opposition parties, including the Congress, are boycotting.

On Thursday, the BJP had alleged that the Congress displayed disregard for Hindu traditions by calling the sacred ‘Sengol’ a ”golden stick gifted” to India’s first prime minister Nehru and tucking it away in a museum.

The vesting of the ”sacred ‘Sengol”’ with Nehru, on the eve of India’s Independence, was the exact moment of transfer of power from the British to India, BJP leader Amit Malviya had said.

On Twitter, Ramesh said, ”The sceptre is now being used by the PM (prime minister) and his drum-beaters for their political ends in Tamil Nadu. This is typical of this brigade that embroiders facts to suit its twisted objectives. The real question is why is President Droupadi Murmu not being allowed to inaugurate the new Parliament.” He claimed that a majestic sceptre conceived of by a religious establishment in the Madras province and crafted in Madras city (now Chennai) was indeed presented to Nehru in August 1947.

”There is no documented evidence whatsoever of Mountbatten, Rajaji and Nehru describing this sceptre as a symbol of transfer of British power to India. All claims to this effect are plain and simple — bodgus,” he said.

”Wholly and completely manufactured in the minds of a few and dispersed into WhatsApp, and now to the drum-beaters in the media. Two of the finest Rajaji scholars with impeccable credentials have expressed surprise,” the Congress general secretary communications said.

While announcing the boycott, the Opposition parties had said the prime minister’s decision to inaugurate it by himself, ”completely sidelining President Droupadi Murmu, is not only a grave insult but a direct assault on our democracy which demands a commensurate response”.

”Is it any surprise that the new Parliament is being consecrated with typically false narratives from WhatsApp University? The BJP-RSS distorians stand exposed yet again with maximum claims, minimum evidence,” Congress general secretary communications Ramesh said in his tweet.

He said the sceptre presented to Nehru was later kept for display at the Allahabad Museum. What Nehru said there on December 14, 1947 is a matter of public record despite whatever labels may say, Ramesh said.

Russia signs deal to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus

Russia signed an agreement with the Belarus government on Thursday to formalise the deployment of tactical nuclear missiles on the latter country’s territory, according to TASS, a Russian-based news agency. The Defence ministers of Russia and Belarus, Sergey Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin, respectively signed the documents on Thursday defining the procedures for storing Russian nuclear weapons at a special facility on Belarusian territory, the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported.

“During the meeting, documents determining the procedure for keeping Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons in a special storage facility on the territory of the Republic of Belarus were signed,” the ministry’s press service said. The measures taken by Russia and Belarus “comply with all existing international legal obligations,” Shoigu stressed.

The defence ministers discussed the current military and political situation and issues of military and technical cooperation between the two countries. Earlier, on March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the Rossiya-24 news channel that at the request of the Belarusian side, it will deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, just as the United States has been doing on the territories of its allies, according to TASS.

“Even out of the context of these events, this statement (about the possible supply of depleted uranium shells by the UK to Ukraine – TASS), Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko has long raised the issue of deploying Russian tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus,” Putin said. He stressed that “there is nothing unusual about this.”

He claimed that the US has been doing the same for decades. The US placed their tactical nuclear weapons on the territories of their allied countries, NATO countries, in Europe a long time ago, Putin said. He further stated that in six states, the Federal Republic of Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Greece, there aren’t any tactical nuclear weapons for now, but there is a storage facility.

“And we agreed [with Belarus] that we will do the same. Without violating – I want to emphasize this – our international obligations on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons,” the Russian President stressed. In March, he also talked about the crew training and storage. “We have already helped our Belarusian colleagues to reequip their planes. Ten planes are ready to apply this type of weapon. We have handed over to Belarus our well-known and very effective Iskander system that can carry [nuclear weapons]. On April 3, we will start training the crew and on July 1 we will complete the construction of a special storage for tactical nuclear weapons on the Belarusian territory,” Putin said.

“Thus, everything the President of Belarus asked about, all the issues he raised in this regard, they are being implemented, and all our agreements will be reached in the very near future,” the Russian leader further said But he stressed that Russia does not transfer such weapons to Belarus, just as the United States does not transfer them to its allies, reported TASS.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, in response to the UK’s plans to supply depleted uranium shells to Ukraine, said that Russia would supply Belarus “ammunition with real uranium.” As the Russian leader indicated, the construction of storage facilities for tactical nuclear weapons will be completed in Belarus by July 1.

Moscow has already provided Minsk with Iskander tactical missile systems capable of carrying nuclear weapons and has helped Minsk to re-equip its military aircraft to carry specialized weapons. Also, Belarusian missile crews and pilots have undergone training in Russia.

"God is watching," says Arvind Kejriwal after Satyendar Jain hospitalised 17

After Aam Aadmi Party colleague Satyendar Jain was injured in Tihar Jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said “God is watching all.” “The person who was working day and night to provide good treatment and good health to the public, today a dictator is bent on killing that good person. That dictator has only one thought – to finish everyone, he lives only in “I”. He only wants to see himself. God is watching all, He will do justice to all,” Delhi CM tweeted in Hindi.

“I pray to God for Satyendra ji’s speedy recovery. May God give them the strength to fight against these adverse circumstances,” he tweeted. Jain has been hospitalised after he fell in the bathroom at Delhi’s Tihar Jail, jail officials said on Thursday.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested Jain on May 30 last year under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED case is based on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint registered on the allegation that Satyender Jain had acquired movable properties in the name of various persons from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, which he could not satisfactorily account for.
