Nicole Kidman on Tom Cruise marriage: ‘I don’t regret any of it’

Nicole Kidman on Tom Cruise marriag

Nicole Kidman has opened up on a subject she rarely talks about — Tom Cruise — saying she was a “baby” when they married but doesn’t regret it.

Kidman, 48, got her big break in Dead Calm at age 22 back in 1989. She went on to star alongside Cruise in Days of Thunder, marrying him in 1990.

The pair adopted two children, Isabella, now 22, and Connor, 20 and went on to star alongside each other in Far and Away, as well as Eyes Wide Shut.

The pair shocked the world in 2001 when they announced that they were divorcing. Both Kidman and Cruise have largely kept silent about the reason for their split. The only comments Cruise has made on the subject is to say “Nicole knows what she did”, when asked about the split from an interviewer.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Kidman said she had learnt a lot during her first marriage.

“Any time you have a chance at something again is good, but each combination of people is different,” she said. “I was a baby when I married Tom, but I don’t regret any of it. But out of respect for Keith I tend not to discuss any of that now.”

Kidman is currently in London starring in Photograph 51 on the West End.
