Jade Thirlwall is dating Jason Derulo

Jade-ThirlwallThe Little Mix singer, 22, has admitted she’s in the “early” stages of romancing the ‘Talk Dirty’ hitmaker, 26, after he won her over when he gave her a cheeky wink during their performance of their new track ‘Secret Love Song’ at the Jingle Bell Ball in London.

The brunette beauty’s band mate Jesy Nelson couldn’t contain her excitement as she revealed: “She’s got someone on the go. His name starts with a J … then a D.”

Jade added: “He’s very hot. It’s early days.”

And it seems the bubbly babe has Jesy – who is engaged to The Rixton’s Jake Roche – to thank for her new romance.

Jesy, 24, added: “He’s so lovely. Really sweet. He gave Jade a little wink when we introduced him on stage. There’s four of us but he looked to Jade and gave her a wink.”

But one person who won’t be impressed by Jade’s new relationship status when he gets wind of it is Nick Jonas, 23, after he revealed he has a soft spot for the talented pop star.

Jesy explained: “Jason’s a bit more manly. Nick’s a nice boy but Jason, I feel like he’d look after her. She’s only little.”

Katie Holmes’ ‘challenging’ new role

Katie-HolmesKatie Holmes found it “challenging” being behind the camera.

The 36-year-old actress admits she struggled when she swapped acting for directing on her recent film ‘All We Had’ but found it incredibly “rewarding” in the end.

She said: “I was actually on both sides [of the camera]. It was an undertaking, but the movie was produced by Jane Rosenthal and you couldn’t ask for a better producer, so I felt very taken care of.

“It was very challenging! But very, very rewarding. Hopefully you just get better every time you do it. That’s what I’m hoping for.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress – who has nine-year-old daughter Suri with husband Tom Cruise – previously insisted she has no regrets.

She shared: “I don’t regret anything that I’ve done. I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going.

“I have a very normal life, and I happen to work in an industry that is abnormal. Daily life, I take a train and cab; it’s just about getting from here to there, and I don’t care how I do it. I have to get there.”

Star system important, but so is performance: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah-Rukh-Khan-–-KajolSuperstar Shah Rukh Khan says the Hindi film industry may be driven by the star system, but the audience now chooses its ‘stars’ based on their performance.

Asked how important is the star system in Bollywood, Shah Rukh said here: “If in IPL (Indian Premier League), we don’t have stars, nobody will watch it. So, you have to have stars for people to choose films.

“Dhoni is a star, but if he doesn’t perform well for three times, everyone starts abusing him so, performance is very important. I think star system is important, or else by this time, our films would have come to an end.”

The 50-year-old, whose next film is the big ticket “Dilwale”, says he feels lucky that at his age, he’s getting to play roles as romantic as the ones he essayed when he was in his 20s.

“Earlier at 40, a hero was not a hero anymore. So, Salman and I were talking the other day that god has been so kind to us that we are 50, and we are still doing the same thing as we did when we were 25.

“It’s a big thing for us,” said the actor, who will be seen romancing Kajol in the RohitShetty directorial.

Mahagatbandhan in Maharashtra?

After Chhagan Bhujbal met Raj Thackeray speculations are rife about whether both of them along with Narayan Rane will form an alliance in Maharashtra before 2019 election.

Raj-and-narayanEver since the Nitish Kumar-Lalu Yadav led Mahagatbandhan’s had won Bihar assembly polls political parties are keen to replicate the same formula in states which are heading for election. After Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal met Raj Thackeray at the latter’s residence speculations are rife about whether Bhujbal is trying to revive his political career. According to sources, Bhujbal is keen to float his own political outfit and is likely to go for an alliance with Raj Thackeray led MNS party. Since Bhujbal’s name has cropped in the Maharashtra Sadan scam, Kalina land deal scam the NCP has been keeping a safe distance from him. Bhujbal is also facing an investigation by the ED into allegations of money laundering.

On the other hand, Congress leader Narayan Rane too is attempting to give a fresh lease of life to his dwindling political career. Few months back, Rane had a meeting with Raj Thackeray to checkmate Sena’s influence in the Konkan region. Rane had already lost the Bandra bye polls to Shiv Sena’s Trupti Sawant. Thus former Shiv Sena leaders Chhagan Bhujbal and Narayan Rane are eyeing for a political alliance with MNS. If everything goes well then Bhujbal, Rane and Raj Thackeray could be a part of an alliance in Maharashtra on the lines of Bihar’s mahagatbandhan before the 2019 election. The MNS which had won 13 seats in the 2009 assembly election could manage to win only one seat in the 2014 assembly election as the party has been losing its foothold in the state.

According to sources from NCP, “Since Chhagan Bhujbal’s name has cropped up in the Maharashtra Sadan scam hence he has been sidelined by Sharad Pawar. Bhujbal is keen to revive his political career hence he is having interaction with Raj Thackeray. He might float his own political outfit and have an alliance with the MNS and Narayan Rane ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha and assembly polls.”

On the other hand Chhagan Bhujbal denied about having any political meeting with Raj Thackeray and said, “The meeting that we had was not political in nature. Raj Thackeray’s mother had fractured her hands and back. My wife and I have old relations with the Thackeray family, and thus went to meet her,” the NCP leader said.

“Every year, the ladies of the house meet outside and go on religious tours. After my wife came to know of the incident, she said she wanted to meet Raj’s mother. That’s why I took my wife and went to meet Kunda tai,” he said.

When asked about the conversation he had with Thackeray, Bhujbal said the talks only revolved around Dalit icon Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and his immense following.
CM Devendra Fadnavis has given his nod to the Anti Corruption Bureau to file a chargesheet against Bhujbal in the Maharashtra Sadan scam as well as the graft in the Kalina library land deal.

The ACB has pressed charges of misconduct and misuse of office against Bhujbal over irregularities in the Kalina land deal case. He has been slapped with more serious corruption charges in the Maharashtra Sadan case.

Even after Indrani, Peter’s arrest, why Sheena Bora’s murder still remains mystery

svpThe Sheena Bora murder mystery has been grabbing headlines since the day it came into light. The protagonist, who allegedly plotted the murder, is the victim’s mother Indrani Mukerjea.

Indrani allegedly plotted the murder of her daughter with the help of her present husband Peter Mukerjea, ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver.

The plot has thickened since the prime suspect’s current husband and ex-media baron Mukerjea was formally arrested as an accomplice on November 19 by the CBI.

The new arrests and revelations have twisted the case for some, while also leading to newer clues. These seem to suggest the following:

There may be a direct link between the murder and the money stockpiled by the Mukerjeas after the sale of their company, INX Media in 2009. The CBI told the special court in Mumbai on November 26 that as much as Rs. 900 crore illegal funds from the INX Media transaction were parked through shell companies abroad, including in accounts opened for Sheena Bora in HSBC, Singapore.

With the CBI accumulating all the evidences, the revelations were shocking.

Peter, who tried to portray himself as ‘another victim’ of Indrani’s plan, was fully aware of the plan to murder Sheena. It is now revealed, through a series of emails he had sent to his son, Rahul, that he was very much a part of the plot and knew of every step his wife was taking.

Going by what the CBI told the court, there is obviously much more in the case. The agency has now gone back to a 2013 probe report of the Serious Fraud Investigation office (SFIO), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, which looked into the dubious sale of INX Media.

The CBI has taken cognizance of the SFIO report, although it may look at it only within the narrow ambit of the murder investigation.

A police official, who is following the case closely, told India Legal that high stakes must certainly be involved for someone like Sanjeev Khanna to get himself entangled in the sordid mess.

Khanna was a fairly successful and respected businessman in Kolkata, owned an upscale restaurant and dabbled in real estate and the hotel development business before he was implicated in the murder.

“Why would he get involved? The explanation that he willingly joined the plot so that his daughter Vidhie’s interests would be served and she would become the rightful heir to Peter’s wealth is too simplistic. It may be recalled that Sanjeev was dumped by Indrani and their daughter was legally adopted by Peter. Why would Sanjeev agree to be part of the murder unless there were big bucks involved and he was promised a share?” he pointed out.

There are several questions that have bewildered investigators ever since the case came to light in August this year.

Gajendra Chauhan to assume charge at FTII from December 18

Gajendra-ChauhanGajendra Chauhan, the Governing Council of Film and Television of India (FTII) came under a lot of criticism from the students of the institution and also personalities from diverse fields on his appointment as Chairman of the institution.

A meeting will be held on December 18 in the campus which will be chaired by Chauhan, who also happens to be the FTII Society President. The current 26-member FTII society will meet for the first time since June 9, 2015.

Reportedly, actors like Vidya Balan, Satish Shah and director Raj Kumar Hirani will be present apart from the appointees to the FTII Society.

The meeting was deferred deliberately until the end of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), so as to “avoid unwanted trouble” during the event.

According to sources, Chauhan said, “Yes, I got a communication from the institute and a go-ahead from the ministry to hold the meeting of the FTII Society. The meeting will take place on December 18 and all society members are likely to attend.”

Had advised Peter Mukerjea not to talk to media: Mahesh Jethmalani

Mahesh-JethmalaniNoted lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani said that he had asked Peter Mukerjea, arrested in Sheena Bora murder case, not to talk to the media about the case but the former media magnate’s interview to a news channel prior to this “advice” had already started the “media trial”.

Jethmalani, who represents Peter Mukerjea in court in the murder case, while taking part in the panel discussion on ‘Anatomy of an Investigation – The Art and Science of Forensics’ in Times LitFest, decried the “increasing tendency” of the media to conduct trials in sensational cases even before the judicial process takes off.

“This is why I had advised Peter not to talk to the press or give any interview to the media. But even before my advice, he had given an interview to a news channel, that turned out like a trial for him even before the actual trial started,” Jethmalani said.

Peter, 59, husband of Indrani, was arrested on November 19 for his alleged role in the Sheena Bora murder case. While Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyamvar Rai were chargesheeted after their arrest in the case in August, Peter, arrested on November 19, is in judicial custody till December 14.

Asked about whether the judiciary should believe in investigative reports by reporters of reputed media houses, Jethmalani said, “It is absolutely fine for the investigative journalists to alert about scams, suppressed murders and concealed crimes but it is not proper for media to start promoting evidences and commenting on it before the trial begins in court.”

HC to deliver verdict on Salman’s appeal this week

The Bombay High Court is slated to deliver its verdict this week on an appeal filed by actor Salman Khan against the five year sentence awarded to him in the 2002 hit-and-run case.

The arguments in the case was concluded on Saturday and Judge A R Joshi said he would begin dictation of judgement on the appeal from Monday.

A sessions court had on May 6 convicted the 49-year-old actor on the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under IPC and other offences.

An aggrieved Salman filed an appeal in the High Court which granted him bail before hearing arguments in the case.

It is the case of the prosecution that Salman had consumed liquor at ‘Rain Bar and Restaurant’ at Vile Parle before ramming his Toyota Lexus car into a shop at Bandra on September 28, 2002. One person died in the mishap and four others were injured.

The prosecution has argued that there were three persons in the car — Salman, his singer friend Kamaal Khan and the actor’s police bodyguard Ravindra Patil, who passed away during the trial in 2007.

Relying upon the statement of Patil, the prosecution argued that Salman was driving the car. However, it did not examine Kamaal Khan who has since then gone abroad.

CBI asked to hand over Rajan’s medicines

A Delhi court has directed CBI to hand over a bag containing medicines, which was found in possession of underworld don Chhota Rajan when he was arrested in Indonesia, to the superintendent of Tihar Jail where he is currently lodged under judicial custody.

The court’s order came after Rajan’s counsel filed a plea seeking direction to CBI’s investigating officer (IO) to hand over the medicines to his client.

In its response to the plea, CBI said after being deported from Indonesia, Rajan was handed over to it by Interpol along with his belongings, including the bag of medicines, which was found in his possession at the time of his arrest on October 25.

The agency said the bag was not required for purpose of investigation but any medicine to be taken by Rajan in judicial custody must have prior approval of the jail doctors.

“Investigating officer is directed to hand over the bag containing medicines to the concerned jail superintendent, who shall provide those medicines to applicant/accused (Rajan) after taking prior approval of jail authorities,” special CBI judge Vinod Kumar said.

The court also noted in its order that on December 3, when the accused was produced before it through video conferencing for remand proceedings, Rajan had requested his lawyer to file an application in this regard.

Deported after being on run for 27 years, the 55-year-old gangster, whose real name is Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, is lodged in the high-security Tihar Jail in connection with an alleged fake passport case.

Rajan, once a close aide of fugitive terrorist and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, was brought to the country to face trial in over 70 cases of murder, extortion and drug smuggling in Delhi and Mumbai.
