Woman’s WhatsApp addiction drives ‘love’ marriage to divorce

A man has sought divorce from his wife after he suspected her of infidelity due to her addiction to WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter.

The case was reported from Agra on Sunday.

The couple had met two years ago. They fell in love and decided to get married. One year later, the relationship turned sour.

“She chats with her friends on WhatsApp till 3 am in the morning,” the husband told counsellors on Sunday.
“She is also online on Twitter and Facebook for hours. When she sees me online, she goes offline,” he said, adding that as a result, she has stopped talking to her in-laws and doing the household chores.

Meanwhile, the woman said that her husband was suspicious about her. Even her in-laws would taunt her often and hence she did not want to stay with them anymore.

Inspite of counselling sessions, the couple refused to sort out the problem and filed for divorce.

Good days have arrived

Yes, finally “acche din aagaye hain”. After garnering massive majority, Narendra Modi has a very good opportunity to put the vehicle of development in motion as early as possible. The article written by Chetan Bhagat published in a popular daily is well articulated and I tend to mostly agree with what has been mentioned by him. There are advantages of a gaining clear mandate but there are disadvantages too. Let us be positive and trust Modi to harvest the advantages by carefully avoiding the disadvantage of falling in any possible RSS trap like “mandir banana sarkar ka kaam hai”. The RSS must strictly focus on citizen development and work as a support team in developmental endeavours.

Modi is allowed a week or fortnight of expressing his happiness in which ever way he likes but soon thereafter he has to put the governmental machinery to work for fulfilling the promises made in the agenda. The number of elected MPs will mostly concentrate on housing and numerous other perks. Work will have to be done at the ground level so the workers at this level will have to be mobilized and they should be supervised by senior officers. It should commence from the gram sabha level or through the level of anganwadi workers.

For working, you need skills. Skills will have to be imparted to our youth through programmes charted out with industrialists like TATA, Reliance, Adani , L&T etc. He says that the pre-requisite is to be strong and the same applies to our work force also which is strong and skilled. It is here that the organizations like the RSS should contribute. We should build more such organizations of skilled experts for offering training to youngsters. Muslims, by and large, are very skilled and they should be encouraged to impart “hunar” in our youth. Youth power is our asset and we have to channelise their energy towards constructive work. They should not be considered as mere wage earners but working for the progress of India.

Amit Shah has done a good job so far. He must remain close to Modi and assist him and also keep him away from the bad elements. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is qualified and young leader and his services must be utilized for bigger tasks. Murli Manohar Joshi had served as the Human Resources Development minister under the government formed under Atal Behari Vajpayee’s reign. Joshi did not do justice to his job so why should he be offered the same ministry once again. Why can’t the post be offered to some other leader who has a proven track record?

Even Sena wants Gujarati’s help

amit-uddhavBJP and Shiv Sena will seek Amit Shah’s assistance to boost its prospects in the forthcoming assembly election.

Amit Shah the right hand of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi who had played a vital role in the saffron party’s success is likely to campaign for the party to boost its electoral prospects in the assembly election. After the BJP led NDA sweeped the Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra it will seek the assistance of Amit Shah to campaign for the assembly elections which is five months away. Shiv Sena too is keen to approach Shah which will enable the party to win Gujarati votes in the city.

Shiv Sena South Mumbai newly elected Member of Parliament Arvind Sawant talking to AV said, “It will be good if Amit Shah provides valuable guidelines to party to fight the assembly election. If the BJP manages to win majority of seats in the upcoming assembly election under the leadership of Amit Shah that it will benefit us. He had played a important role in UP which enabled the BJP to win maximum seats in the state.”

BJP state president Devendra Fadnavis said, “We will seek the guidance of Amit Shah to repeat the feat achieved by BJP in UP in Maharashtra too. His expertise will enable us to win more seats in the state assembly election.”
According to Fadnavis, Maharastra BJP’ state unit and other allies will use the political acumen of Modi’s master strategist to wrest power from Congress-NCP in the Assembly elections.

A close source from Shiv Sena said, “Narendra Modi’s close aide Amit Shah campaigning in UP enabled the BJP to sweep polls in UP. His expertise will come handy in the assembly election scheduled to be held in Maharashtra.”
The assembly elections are expected to be held in Maharashtra in the month of September-October. The Mahayuti alliance has already started preparing for the election.

NDA had used Narendra Modi as its trump card in the Lok Sabha election which paved way for its massive victory. After an impressive show in the general election, the Mahayuti alliance is confident of winning the assembly elections too.

As a part of the assembly election strategy, the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra is preparing a blue print for the development of the state which is expected to be released soon.

In the 2009 assembly election, the Congress and NCP had won maximum seats in Maharashtra. In the last assembly election Shiv Sena chief late Bal Thackeray campaigned for the party enabled the party to win 45 seats out of 171 seats. Congress and NCP alliance managed to win 144 seats where as the Mahayuti alliance was restricted to 91 seats.

People knew AAP was not in a state to form government: Mayank Gandhi

AAP-mayankAam Aadmi Party leader Mayank Gandhi on Sunday said voters were convinced that AAP was ‘not in a state’ to form government at this stage.

“Aam Aadmi Party was not in a state to form a decisive government at this time and people were well aware of this. Since Arvind Kejriwal had resigned as the chief minister of Delhi in 49 days, people felt that he had abandoned his responsibility. Indian voters wanted a strong and a decisive government this time,” Gandhi said.

Corruption was the last thing on the minds of people this time or AAP would have performed much better than it did, the AAP’s national executive member said.

“People are well aware that Modi and his party receive large funds from corporates,” he alleged, adding “But corruption did not matter too much in these elections.”
“It was only about a strong and decisive government this time, which people felt only Modi could provide. This mindset developed due to large amount of money being spent on the brand called Modi,” he further alleged.

The candidates of any party did not matter as this election was only about Modi, he said.

“People have voted for or against Modi. The candidates of BJP or their allies did not matter. Even a lamp post would have won if it was associated with Modi. And a small group of people that didn’t want Modi to become the Prime Minister voted for the Congress, which they believed could stop Modi,” he claimed.

To a query, Gandhi said AAP will continue to introspect and correct itself, and that these elections have helped it build up the organisation.

“We are fairly new in politics. It did not matter whether the organisation was good or bad or if our candidates were strong or weak. The Modi ‘tsunami’ swept over us. But we have now been able to make our presence felt even at polling booth levels, which will undoubtedly help us in Assembly elections,” he said.

When asked about AAP not winning a single LS seat in Delhi, Gandhi said, “People in Delhi have not lost faith in AAP at all. It was only for the central leadership that people voted for BJP candidates. AAP will sweep Delhi in the Assembly elections,” he claimed.

436 Naxals Surrendered in Maharashtra since 2005

Naxals-targetThere are 436 Naxals have been surrendered in Gadchiroi, Gondia and Yavatmal districts of eastern Maharashtra since the state government launched its scheme to facilitate rehabilitation of the ultras in 2005.

Last week, the government extended the Naxal Surrender Scheme till August 29, 2015.

Interestingly, the Naxals who have laid down their arms under the scheme include 30 couples, official sources said.

The authorities have disbursed Rs. 3.15 crore to the surrendered rebels by way of financial aid so far. Of this, Rs. 2.72 crore was from the state while the rest came from the Centre.

The surrendered Naxals were also provided with bullock carts, diesel engines etc so that they could earn their livelihood in a legitimate way.

Among the surrendered ultras are a state zonal committee member of Naxals, five ‘divisional committee’ members, 13 ‘dalam commanders’, 17 ‘deputy commanders’ and 166 ‘dalam’ members, besides members of Gram Rakshak Dal and Sangam groups.

The highest number of Naxals — 133 — surrendered in 2008.

As many as 82 rifles were recovered from the surrendered ultras.

‘SMS alert’ service to start soon in all Thane courts

SMS-alertLawyers of the petitioners and respondents in all courts of the district may soon get SMS alerts regarding status of the pleas filed, on their mobile phones through new service called Case Information System (CIS).

In a circular, Thane District Courts Bar Association recently asked its members to submit their mobile numbers to the respective courts. According to sources, the system is likely to start within the next two months.

“It is a hand to hand service where advocate of the petitioner will receive SMS alerts regarding the status of the petition filed by him/her, so that they can forward it to the client. The system will decrease dependency on assistants, which earlier, needed follow-up,” said one of the members of Thane district courts Bar Association.

The system will be of great help to the lawyers and their clients, where they can know whether petition filed has been accepted or rejected, or if there is any shortcoming in the petition, which was earlier done after checking files manually, he added.

58 women contested Maha LS polls, only five won

Out of the 58 women who contested the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, only five emerged victorious.
According to statistics of the Election Commission of India, the total 897 candidates who contested the Lok Sabha elections in the state included 58 women. The five women who emerged victorious are – Poonam Mahajan (BJP) from Mumbai North Central constituency, NCP’s Supriya Sule from Baramati, BJP’s Heena Gavit from Nandurbar, Raksha Khadse (BJP) from Raver and Bhawana Gawli (Shiv Sena) from Yavatmal-Washim.
Notably, four among these winners belong to prominent political families. Poonam Mahajan is the daughter of former BJP leader late Pramod Mahajan, while Supriya Sule is the daughter of NCP chief and political stalwart Sharad Pawar. Heena Gavit (26), daughter of former Maharashtra minister Vijay Kumar Gavit, defeated Congressman Manikrao Gavit (80), who was seeking a record tenth term. Raksha Khadse is the daughter-in-law of Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Eknath Khadse.
Percentage wise, the women nominees in 2014 Maharashtra LS polls stood at 6.46 per cent, while the winners (women) constituted a mere 0.55 per cent. During the 2009 Maharashtra LS elections, 55 nominees of the fairer sex were in the fray among 819 candidates.
That time, only three women candidates had emerged victorious – Bhawana Gawli (Shiv Sena) from Yavatmal-Washim constituency, Priya Dutt (Congress) from Mumbai North Central, and Supriya Sule (NCP) from family pocket borough of Baramati.
The Women’s Reservation Bill pending in the Lok Sabha has proposed to amend the Constitution to reserve 33 per cent of all seats in the LS and in all state Legislative Assemblies for women. Rajya Sabha had passed the Women’s Reservation Bill on March 9, 2010.

Government formation: RSS can offer ‘suggestions’ to BJP

As Narendra Modi got into hectic parleys on government formation, RSS said it may offer “suggestions if required” even as it made it clear that it is not acting as “remote control” and will not interfere in the functioning of the new BJP ministry or the party.

BJP, on its part, also claimed that Sangh has no role in the formation of the Modi government, even as several party leaders made a beeline for the RSS office in Delhi to meet top leaders.

Modi, BJP’s Prime Minister-designate, has already met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and other senior BJP leaders including its chief Rajnath Singh have met top RSS leaders ever since Lok Sabha results were declared giving an absolute majority to the party.

“Sangh has not given any guidelines to the BJP after its historic victory in Lok Sabha polls, nor to Modiji… RSS never keeps any remote control to perform any role in politics and government,” RSS national spokesperson Ram Madhav said in Jaipur.

“People’s representatives who won in Lok Sabha polls are aware of the Sangh’s ideology and they know how to do work and take forward its ideology. There is no way that RSS would interfere in government’s functioning and politics. However, if required Sangh may give suggestions,” he said.

Former BJP President Venkaiah Naidu denied RSS having any role in government formation, which he said, will be done after consultations among party leadership. He also played down meetings of BJP leaders with RSS top brass.
“The question does not arise. The Sangh never interferes in such matters,” he said, when asked if RSS has a role in government formation.

Naidu, who was coming out after meeting RSS general secretary and second in command in the Sangh, Bhaiyyaji Joshi, said he has been a former president of the party and he is saying so with his own experience that RSS never interferes in matters of Cabinet or government formation.

“We are swayamsevaks. We come here to Sangh headquarters to meet our seniors. That is part of our life. There is nothing big about it.”

BJP has no moral authority to seek CM Chavan’s resignation: Congress

Notwithstanding Congress’ poor show in the Lok Sabha polls in the state, the MPCC rejected BJP’s demand for Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s resignation saying the rival party had “no right to meddle” in its affairs.

“The BJP-Shiv Sena government was in power in Maharashtra for five years. They lost other polls. The people of Maharashtra have elected us for five years. Why should we disrespect that mandate,” MPCC spokesperson Basavraj Patil Nagralkar said.
“What we do after these results is our party’s internal matter. They have no right to meddle in our affairs,” he said.

Couple Acquitted in Murder Case

A couple facing trial for the murder of a woman from Mokhada in the district has been acquitted by a local court in Thane for want of evidence.

The prosecution told the court that on March 14, 2010, the couple – Raghunath Budhar (45) and his wife Leela Budhar (40) – brutally murdered Kashibai Modak (40), who allegedly had an affair with Raghunath.

While the wife held the hands of the victim, her husband smashed the woman with a heavy stone after thrashing her. The duo then dumped the body in a thrashing yard of Chinchkar Pada village.

However, defence counsel P S Mahimkar challenged the prosecution story and said the couple had no connection whatsoever with the incident.

The defence challenged the deposition of the witnesses and said their statements were recorded after a delay of four days.

The defence also pointed out that the medical report failed to give the exact cause of the woman’s death.

After hearing both the parties, Thane Additional Sessions Judge M C Khadke recently gave the couple benefit of doubt and absolved them of the charges.
