T20 WC: Skipper Mahmudullah to miss Bangladesh’s first warm-up game due to ‘slight back pain’

bangladesh, mahmudullah, t20 world cup, t20 wc, skipperBangladesh T20I skipper Mahmudullah will miss his team’s first warm-up match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday due to “slight back pain”. Bangladesh selector Habibul Bashar said the team doesn’t want to take any “risks” now ahead of the T20 World Cup.

“[Mahmudullah] has a slight back pain. He won’t have time to rest during the tournament when there will be back-to-back matches. So, we are not taking any risks now,” ESPNcricinfo quoted Bashar as saying. “He will not play tomorrow’s match; we will give him a bit of time. He is a seasoned player, so he can recover with a bit of rest, and prepare for the tournament,” he added.

Bangladesh will open their campaign in the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against Scotland at the Oman Cricket Academy ground in Muscat on October 17. Speaking about the conditions in Oman, Bashar said, “The wickets are fresh in Oman. It hasn’t held a lot of matches. They are true wickets. The bowlers get good purchases, and it is good for batting. Spinners won’t get much turn. There’s considerable dew in the evenings, so that was also important information for us.”

Bangladesh and 2014 champions Sri Lanka feature in Round 1 along with Ireland, Namibia, Netherlands Oman, PNG and Scotland in the seventh edition of the tournament. The T20 World Cup gets underway from October 17 with Oman locking horns with Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Maharashtra Bandh – Woefully the government shutdowns its own state

mumbai, maharashtra bandh, maha bandh, mva, maha vikas aghadi, mva bandh, lakhimpur kheri, lakhimpur

Forcefully closing shop and beating people is the way to show they support to farmers in Uttar Pradesh? This is the first time that I have seen Bandh declared by the state government at the cost of people. And this Bandh was successful, as Mumbai had come to a halt. Now this Government should compensate all the poor Shop owners and vendors for losing the wages for the day for their political stunt.

People are somehow trying to come out of their financial stress. They have just started recovering from COVID and are indulging in businesses and other financial activities, why the government should enforce such mindless Bandhs on them?

Just when the festival season started, just when people started coming out of homes, just when people started spending a bit on their priorities, just when people started winning their bread. The government called for a Bandh that deprived most of the people of going to work or do business. Mumbai shops were closed, no government or private offices were asked to keep closed but commuting was a big challenge for commoners.

Meanwhile, how can Bandhs be successful without isolated streets, hooligans and vandals forcing down shutters, hapless police looking on and a helpless common man getting torn between his responsibility towards his work and his safety considerations. Over the years, we have been witness to numerous bandhs’ on a variety of issues affecting some sections of society. This sticky issue has led to complete polarization of opinion in recent times.

Hindi word ‘Bandh’ literally means ‘to close’ and it is signified by the shutting of all businesses and normal life for spreading awareness and cornering the government on certain issues. The issue here may be small or big but the impact of a bandh on everyday life is definitely not minor.

Bandh being successful will almost entirely boil down to the impact on the daily life of the common man and the full scale of its employment. Desolate streets, downed shutters, empty buses and trains, empty offices all lend credence to a bandh and put additional pressure on the governments to play ball with the striking party.

But this time it was a rare occurrence. The state government used Bandhs to corner the central government. The seductive power of bringing the entire state to a standstill, wild media coverage, social media posts, and above all the question of the government’s credibility. This shut down has really not gone well with the people of Maharashtra especially Mumbai.

Maha Vikas Aghadi government should understand that a day’s loss of output from its industries not only affects it monetarily but also brings a big loss of credibility. The loss of output means lower revenues, greater liabilities, loss of orders and more importantly a loss of perceived authority. That is why the mere mention of Bandh can strike fear into people who will try to avoid it at all costs. But when government machinery and party workers force the Bandh by using muscle powers common man becomes voiceless.

The workers of Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress were forcing citizens with an appeal to participate in the bandh wholeheartedly and express their solidarity with Uttar Pradesh farmers ignoring the killings and brutalities in their own state. Over 2,000 traders dealing in fruits, vegetables, flowers, grains, onions, and potatoes were forced to support the bandh. Transport was hit, rickshaws were not allowed to ply their vehicles during the duration of the shutdown.

Well, if this solidarity is going to bring some change or force central authorities to speak on incidence then it is worth but nothing of that sort is going to happen. As we all know PM always goes on mute mode during severe crises in the country.

Eight people, including four farmers, died in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. The farmers died after being knocked down by vehicles reportedly carrying BJP workers, after which an angry mob allegedly lynched some people in these vehicles. On Saturday night, the police in Lakhimpur Kheri in connection with the October 3 violence arrested Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra. He is getting interrogated, the family of deceased farmers got compensation too. In spite of all this why the Bandh was called no one knows.

Maharashtra Bandh ‘unconstitutional’ – First time in the history of Maharashtra, the ruling government announces a Bandh

maharashtra bandh, mva, maha vikas aghadi, mva government, mumbai bandh, bjp, gopal shetty, sanjay raut, raut, Amid the state-wide Bandh called by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government on Monday in protest against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident that claimed the lives of eight people including four farmers, the opposition calls it an ‘unconstitutional’ move and terms it a political gimmick.

“When Bandh is supported by state governments, they should tell private and governments offices to keep it close, their unplanned announcements caused inconvenience to the common man. All the street vendors are forced to close the shops, who would be paying for the losses of the common man? ” Asks Mumbaikar.

Viren Shah, chief of the Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association (FRTWA) said, “First we objected to the state government calling a bandh but later on decided to support the bandh. After the request of Shiv Sena and other party leaders, we have decided to keep shops closed till 4 pm in support of the bandh call by the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.”

Most of the state traders have suffered huge losses for the past 18 months due to lockdown. Their business somehow managed to get in track but in the middle of the festival season when customers have started coming out to shop, they were not allowed to do their business peacefully.

The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government comprising the Shiv Sena, Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party or NCP is supporting the bandh. In fact, the state government itself announced the bandh at a joint press conference of the three parties, which is unconstitutional.

Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik told reporters, “I request 12 crore people of Maharashtra to support the farmers. Support means all of you join the bandh and stop your work for a day.” But he did not discuss the compensation for losses.

The state government said everything would be closed except for essential services. The Agricultural Produce Market Committee or sabzi mandi is also shut. Shiv Sena workers were seen patrolling the streets in Thane and stopping the autos amid the shutdown.

sanjay rautWhen we asked Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut about the motive and purpose of the Bandh and also who would compensate the small-time vendors and employees those who lost their one-day wages, Raut said, “This bandh is not for any political or personal motive. We wanted to give a strong message that our Anna data (farmer) is not alone and we stand by them in their solidarity.”

He further said, “If we fail to take care of the farmers tomorrow nobody would take care of us, they are the backbone of the Indian economy, and they are the hands that are feeding us. So when the intention was to stand in support, little sacrifice is inevitable. The purpose of Bandh was to condemn the attack on farmers, and the brutality caused to them, we want justice to be delivered to those farmers who were killed but the irony is that the central government and their ministers are supporting the accused.”

Three companies of the Central Reserve Police Force, 500 home guards, and 700 from other forces were deployed across Mumbai to maintain law and order.

The traders appear, however, to be stuck in a political crossfire, as the BJP has said it will not allow, “forced closure of shops” to support the bandh.

Ram KadamBJP MLA Ram Kadam said, “This government is confused. They have outraged the constitution of India. Don’t they know that a ruling government cannot call out a state-wide Bandh? This is happening for the first time in the history of independent India. Keeping their own offices open they are shutting other businesses. Who will pay for their loss? Are they suggesting unemployment? Why the Maha Vikas Aghadi is not telling what have they done about the Nirbhaya incidents in Maharashtra? What about the Palghar mob lynching? In Kashmir, 7 Hindus are brutally murdered in 5 days. Is this not the double standard of this government?”

Atul BhatkhalkarBJP General Secretary MLA Atul Bhatkalkar said, “This is state-sponsored terrorism. It is a political gimmick by ‘Maha Bighadi Sarkar’. They are calling Bandh in Maharashtra for the farmers of UP and what about the suicides of the farmers in Maharashtra? In the Marathwada division, 22-lakh hectare cultivation land has gone in water destroying the crop yield. CM has no time to visit there. In districts like Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, and Konkan farmers are yet to get disaster relief compensation. The ruling aide Raju Shetty has himself said that the relief helps is not reached as yet. This Bandh is nothing but Pawar and Thackeray dramatics. Commons are facing hardships. Best Buses are vandalized badly. Police and Shiv Sena walk hand in hand.”

Madhav BhandariChief spokesperson of BJP Madhav Bhandari said, “This is scamming and an act of state-sponsored fanaticism. Thousands of farmers have committed suicide within the state and they are concerned about UP farmers. Not even a courtesy call was done to the deceased farmer’s family members. The flood-hit farmers of Konkan and Western ghat are still without a single penny aid. Destroying public property, threatening businessmen for their lives retelling them of Mansukh Hiren issue and terrorizing traders is pure terrorism.”

Preeti Sharma MenonPreeti Sharma Menon, spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party told Afternoon Voice, “The Lakhimpur massacre is nothing short of a terrorist attack and it is still unbelievable that it was perpetrated by those in power. Even the Taliban doesn’t mow down its citizens as the BJP leaders have done. It is essential for all of us to protest and fight for justice, for sanity.”

“However, since MVA chose to protest through a bandh the government should have shut the whole state, so people don’t have to struggle to get to their offices without transport. More importantly, the violence and vandalism of Shiv Sena are condemnable. What purpose is served by destroying public property in your own state?” Menon further stated.

Gopal ShettyBJP MP Gopal Shetty told Afternoon Voice, “The time from which this Maha Vikas Aghadi government has come into power the Bandh began, so there is no Bandh today. I condemn this fake Bandh and this phoney of the three party’s decision. NCP and Congress killed many farmers in police firings when their coalition government was ruling. Why wasn’t a Bandh called at that time? BJP stands for those who lost their dear ones.”

Dhananjay ShindeDhananjay Shinde of the Aam Aadmi Party said, “Announcement of Bandh by Government is a controversial decision. Most of the time it is just the politics of the ruling parties. Today MVA government has called for Bandh. But even BJP state governments had done the same during the UPA regime. Aam Aadmi Party always supports peaceful Bandh within the constitutional framework. We are always against forceful Bandh. The violence of political parties in power doing Bandh is absolutely cowardly act and not appreciated. Common men always suffer because of Bandh. There is an urgent need to brainstorm and find out the solution on how to compensate the commoner suffering because of Bandh.”

Nitesh RaneMaharashtra BJP leader Nitesh Rane warned, “If shopkeepers are forced to close shops tomorrow by any of the MVA karyakartas, they will have to face BJP karyakartas. Police should ensure no one is forced or else there will be a law-and-order situation, which is not our responsibility.”

Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra had been named in a police case filed by farmers who said he drove into a gathering of slogan-shouting demonstrators amid a peaceful black-flag protest last Sunday.

Ashish Mishra was produced before a court on Saturday night; days after intense pressure build-up on police inaction even after a murder case was filed. The Supreme Court had also pulled up the UP Police for not doing their job properly.

aryan khan, satish maneshinde, maneshinde, cruise drug case, drug case, ncbA Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) court in Mumbai on Monday said that it would hear on Wednesday the bail plea of Aryan Khan, accused in the Mumbai cruise drug bust case.

The court asked the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to file its reply on Wednesday morning and argue in the same matter in the second half of the same day.

“It is natural that if the bail application is rejected by a court, we move to the higher court. We’ve filed the bail application (Special NDPS court in Mumbai). Hearing is likely to take place today,” Satish Maneshinde told media persons before the hearing.

A Mumbai Magistrate court had on Thursday sent Aryan, son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and seven others to judicial custody for 14 days.

Maharashtra Bandh: Bus services affected, shops closed in Mumbai, Thane & MMR region

maharashtra bandh, maha bandh, bandh, maha vikas aghadi, mva, lakhimpur kheri, lakhimpurBus services were affected in Mumbai, Thane and Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) areas on Monday and most of the shops and commercial establishments remained closed in the wake of the bandh called across Maharashtra by three partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to protest the killing of four farmers in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district.

As buses of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST – the transport undertaking of the city civic body) and many of the traditional ‘black-yellow cabs’ remained off roads, there were huge crowds on suburban railway stations to commute by local trains, which were running as per schedule.

The three ruling allies – Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, have appealed to people to wholeheartedly support the bandh, which began at midnight, to express their solidarity with farmers. In the morning, shops and other commercial establishments, barring those engaged in selling essential items, remained closed in Mumbai.

While the BEST bus services were affected in the wake of the bandh, the local trains, considered as the lifeline of Mumbai, were operating normally, but running packed as road commuters shifted to suburban rail services. ”Our services are running as per schedule,” Shivaji Sutar, chief public relations officer of the Central Railway, told PTI.

Most of the black-yellow cabs and auto-rickshaws were off roads in the metropolis, as per transport union leaders.

”The black-yellow taxis are operating, but their number is very less. The taxi operations outside the city airport are unaffected,” said A L Quadros, general secretary of the Mumbai Taximens’ Union.

The Metro rail services were also operating normally in the city.

Officials of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) said their buses from Mumbai to other places were plying as per the schedule and no untoward incident was reported anywhere.

”Regional offices across the state have been informed to operate bus services in consultation with the district administration concerned and police after taking stock of the local situation,” an MSRTC official said.

There was heavy police deployment across the state capital in the wake of the bandh.

Police personnel, including women, were on patrolling duty in every area of the city and no untoward incident was reported till now, a police official said.

There was extra traffic police deployment on the city roads, where people were mostly seen traveling in private vehicles. Many senior police officials were seen visiting the ‘bandobast’ points. At railways stations also, an extra police force was deployed.

The Mumbai Police earlier said they will deploy the maximum manpower at their disposal on the streets on Monday to prevent any untoward incident during the bandh.

Three companies of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), 500 Home Guard personnel, and 400 men from the Local Arms units are already deployed as additional manpower for the ongoing Navratri festival security, an official said.

In the neighbouring Thane district, shops and commercial establishments remained closed in the morning, and roads at many places wore a deserted look.

Public buses remained off roads, while a few auto-rickshaws were seen plying in some places.

Heavy security was deployed in Thane city, rural parts of the district, neighbouring Navi Mumbai township, and Palghar district, officials said. Activists of the ruling allies, carrying placards and banners, took out morchas in Thane city, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, and Vasai towns and raised slogans to protest the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri.

Local leaders were seen requesting traders in some places to keep their establishments shut.

The Thane Small Scale Industries Association in a release condemned the killing of farmers but said the industries and small traders were not in favor of the bandh as they were already facing losses due to the COVID-19-related curbs.

Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut last week said his party will participate with full force in the Monday bandh in Maharashtra. He said it was necessary to wake people up against the ”anti-farmer” policies of the Central government.

Eight people, including four farmers, died in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3.

The farmers died after being knocked down by vehicles reportedly carrying BJP workers, after which an angry mob allegedly lynched some people in these vehicles.

On Saturday night, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra was arrested by the police in Lakhimpur Kheri in connection with the October 3 violence.

NCP spokesman and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik on Monday said the MVA demands that Union minister Ajay Misha be sacked.

Indian states looming in Coal crisis

coal mine, coal shortage, coal india, electricity, electricity generationThe coal crisis has hit the power supply in India, there is no adequate supply against demand. It is uncertain how long the current situation will last. This is not the problem only in India but a global occurrence, one not specifically constrained to India.

The Indian government has said it is working with state-run enterprises to ramp up production and mining to reduce the gap between supply and demand. A sharp uptick in power demand as the economy recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic coupled with supply issues have led to the current coal shortage.

India consumed 124 billion units of power in August 2021 compared to 106 billion units of power in August 2019 that was not impacted by the pandemic.

Coal-fired thermal power plants have also supplied a higher proportion of the increase in demand leading the share of thermal power in India’s power mix to increase to 66.4% from 61.9% in 2019.

The biggest challenge India has to achieve a balance between meeting demand for electricity from its almost 1.4bn people and the desire to cut its reliance on heavily infesting coal-burning power plants has been a major challenge for the government in recent years. This could be little difficult to change the scenario without having enough backups. But in the past, we have seen that has not happened because maintaining such an inventory comes at a monetary price.

In a country where 70% of the electricity is generated using coal, this is a major cause for concern as it threatens to derail India’s post-pandemic economic recovery. As India’s economy becoming steady after a fatal second wave of Covid-19, demand for power rose suddenly. Power consumption in the last two months alone jumped by almost 17%, compared to the same period in 2019.

At the same time, global coal prices increased by 40% and India’s imports fell to a two-year low. Coal Minister Singh told that the government has connected an additional 28.2 million households and these households are buying lights, fans, and television sets leading to an increase in power demand. Other key reasons for the supply crunch include lower than normal stock accumulation by thermal power plants in the April-June period and continuous rainfall in coal-bearing areas in August and September that led to lower production and fewer dispatches of coal from coal mines.

A constant move to lower imports coupled with high international prices of coal has also led to plants cutting imports. An inter-ministerial team, including representatives of the Power and Railway Ministries, Coal India Ltd, the Central Electricity Authority, and Power System Operation Corporation, is monitoring the supply of coal to thermal power plants.

The government is pressing thermal plants with captive coal mines to boost their coal output so that they can meet more of their own demand and is also prioritizing coal supplies for thermal power plants with low levels of stock. The Power Ministry is also trying to increase the supply of coal by expediting the start of production from a number of mines that already have all requisite clearances in place.

The government has also boosted the number of rakes of coal being transported to thermal power plants daily with 263 rakes of coal dispatched from coalmines on Monday up from 248 rakes on Sunday. It is expected that the dispatches from coal lines will increase further government mentioned in its release.

Let’s see how the Indian government deals with the energy crisis looming in some states, including Delhi and Punjab, due to a combination of factors such as excess rainfall hitting coal movement and imported coal-based power plants generating less than half of their capacity due to record-high rates.

Huge coal shortage in India; the shortage is due to a hike in global coal prices, says Centre

coal india, coal shortage, coal, maharashtra, electricity, power, electricity generation, india coal shortageThe government listed four reasons for the depletion of coal stocks at power plants — the unprecedented increase in demand for electricity due to revival of the economy, heavy rains in coal mine areas, increase in the price of imported coal, and legacy issues such as heavy dues of coal companies in certain states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

The huge coal shortage affecting power plants will be handled in the next few days, the Centre said as several states, including Delhi, raised concerns over impending blackouts.

Several states, including Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and Tamil Nadu, have raised concerns over blackouts. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, warned that the national capital “could face a blackout” in the next two days if coal supplies to power plants do not improve.

A “panic has been unnecessarily created about coal shortage” and this is due to miscommunication from GAIL and Tata, Union minister for power RK Singh said today. The country has four days’ reserve, he said. “We have sufficient power available… We are supplying power to the entire country. Whoever wants, give me a requisition and I will supply them,” Union minister for power RK Singh said

An inter-ministerial sub-group led by the Coal Ministry has been monitoring the coal stock situation twice a week, it said in a statement on Saturday. The ministry has assured that they are making efforts to send 1.6 metric tonnes of coal a day in the next three days and will try to reach 1.7 MT a day.

In the south, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “urgent personal attention” calling the situation “quite alarming”. “The power sector is being pushed into turmoil because of coal shortage,” the Chief Minister pointed out.

Priyanka Gandhi hits out at Centre, says “Govt tried to save Union Minister’s son in Lakhimpur case”

priyanka gandhi vadra, priyanka, vadra, gandhi, lakhimpur kheri, lakhimpur, ajay mishra, ashish mishra, union minister

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday accused the government of the bid to save a Union minister’s son in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case and said except BJP leaders and their “billionaire friends” nobody is safe in the country.

Vadra said this during a “Kisan Nyay Rally” in PM Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi, days after eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the violence. Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish has been arrested in connection with the case.

The Congress leader also attacked the prime minister, saying he travels across the country and abroad but did not have time to talk to farmers protesting over the Centre’s farm laws, just at a distance of 10 minutes from his residence. The PM recently visited Lucknow for an exhibition but could not reach Lakhimpur Kheri, a distance of just two hours, to wipe the tears of farmers, who gave freedom to the country, she said.

Priyanka said Mahatma Gandhi fought for the freedom of the country so that the poor and labourers could get justice. But due to this government, people have given up hope of justice, she alleged. “In this country, the son of the (Union) Minister of State for Home crushed farmers under his car but the government was trying to save him,” the Congress leader alleged. Nowhere in the world would the police invite a murder accused for interrogation, she said. Priyanka said people should compel those in power to give justice.

“The Congress workers do not fear anyone even if you put them in jails or beat them. We will continue to fight till the Union MoS (Ajay Mishra) resigns. Our party has fought for the country’s Independence and no one can silence us,” she said. She also said families of aggrieved people in the state, be it from Sonbhadra (where 13 tribals were killed), Hathras or even Lakhimpur Kheri, said they do not want compensation but justice, of which they have no hope.

“Time has come and I am not talking about the elections, I am talking about the country. The country is not the fiefdom of BJP office-bearers, their ministers or the prime minister. This is your country. If you do not become aware and remain entangled in their politics, then neither will you be able to save yourself nor the country,” she said.

About the farmers’ protest, she said, “Farmers are protesting against farm laws for the past 10 months and 600 of them have lost their lives. They are protesting because their farm, income and produce will go to the billionaire friends of Modiji through the provisions of these (central) laws.”

“The billionaire friends of Modiji purchased apples last year at Rs 88 per kg in Himachal Pradesh and this year, it was purchased at Rs 72 per kg. everybody is compelled to sell apples at a lower price. This situation will prevail in the country when the laws are implemented,” she claimed. The PM who calls himself a ‘Gangaputra’ — son of the Ganga–has insulted crores of “Gangaputras” by hatching a conspiracy to give their crops and income to his billionaire friends, Priyanka alleged.

Priyanka said when she speaks to people, they tell her that there are no jobs and income. Farmers, Dalits and women are feeling harassed, she claimed. People may belong to any caste and religion, they are not safe, the Congress leader alleged.

“In this country, the prime minister, his council of ministers, people from his party and their billionaire friends are safe. Understand this properly. The country is getting destroyed,” the Congress leader said. Before the rally, Priyanka visited the Kashi Vishwanath and Kushmanda temples. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

The rally started with the recitation of ”mantras”, Gurbani and verses from the Quran. After Priyanka reached the rally venue, the Congress leaders present on the stage raised the religious slogan of ”Har Har Mahadev”.

At the beginning of her speech, Priyanka recited ”Sanskrit shlokas” and chanted “Jai Mata Di”. Senior UP Congress leader Pradeep Mathur told PTI that Congress workers from different walks of life accorded a warm welcome to the party general secretary.

State Congress spokesperson Ashok Singh said with Sunday’s event, the party has launched itself aggressively for the upcoming 2022 UP Assembly elections. “The Congress under the leadership of Priyankaji will comprehensively defeat the demon power, which has unleashed itself in various parts of the state,” Singh said.
