Red Swastik Society to felicitate individuals in the field of health and medicine

Like every year, Red Swastik Society, an international NGO, serving the underprivileged and working in areas of rural/urban health, de-addiction and disaster management, shall be honouring individuals working in the field of Health/Medicine with National awards as well as cash prize. To be held at Nehru Centre, Worli on Tuesday, the awards function shall also be graced by Girish Mahajan, Minister of Water Resources.

The Red Swastik National Awards comprise of 6 categories and carry a citation, scroll and cash prizes ranging from Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 21,000/- each. The Sarthee Award, presented to a driver of any public transport system for outstanding record, is to be conferred upon Chetan Patel. While the Blue Cross Society of Pune is the winner of the Nakula Award for serving animals or contributing to Veterinary services, the Ashtavakra Award – which is given to a handicapped person who is serving the society – is to be presented to Shri Shersingh Rathore. The Charak Award – for best Medical (Allopathic or Ayurvedic or Homeopathic) Research achievement is to be presented to KVO Jain Manav Kalyan Kendra and the Sushrut Award for the best Surgical operations/Assistance for the major surgeries is to be conferred upon Dr. Mohinish Bhatjiwale. Lastly, the Bhai Ghannaiya Award for providing Medical & Nursing charitable Services to the poor and needy without any discrimination is to be presented to Dr. Sudhir Goyal.

 

The awards are presented every year to people who have worked in the field of health and social upliftment of the poor particularly in the backward regions of the world.
