Apparently unhappy with BJP’s way of handling poll campaigning and its strategy to connect with voters in certain areas, the RSS has decided to enter the poll fray to help party sail smoothly in October 15 elections.
The RSS will now help BJP in poll campaigning in certain areas of Mumbai and Konkan belt. Though, the RSS will not openly attend the public rallies or make appearances with candidates but provide back-room support.
The RSS which post the Lok Sabha elections, made it clear that it won’t take part in the Assembly polls, has now decided to help BJP to gain the ground in Konkan belt.
A senior RSS ideologue has been quoted in the report as saying, “Seeing BJP failing to handle the anti-Modi attacks from opposition parties, the RSS has decided to mobilise its grassroot workers to help the party in Assembly polls.”
He further said that the RSS activists will not work for individual candidates but for the party in whole. He added that the activists will not openly campaign for the candidate but work from backdoor.
The RSS is planning to begin mohalla sabhas, small gatherings to garner votes in Konkan belt region which includes areas like Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhdurg.
