Actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard, Shera, has been named in a case of assault by the Mumbai Police after he allegedly roughed up an acquaintance at DN Nagar in Andheri.
The incident took place last night after Shera got into a scuffle with one Attar Umar Qureshi on Link road, with whom he also had a heated argument earlier over the phone, senior police inspector Dhanaji Nalawade of DN Nagar police station said.
The case has been registered under section 326 of IPC
The complainant, who is reportedly a staff at the pub where the brawl took place, has alleged that Shera used a gun for threatening him followed by breaking the his neck bone.
The police complaint says that Mr Qureshi, who was traveling in an Audi, spotted Shera and stopped his car. It’s not clear what provoked the fight that followed.
He denied the charges and said he had a verbal argument with the complainant. But Attar Umar Qureshi has said during a fight on a road last night, Shera pulled a gun on him on Tuesday night and drag him.
Shera is alleged to be very close to the 50-year-old actor. He is associated with Salman Khan since a long time now. In 2011, Mr Khan dedicated the movie “Bodyguard” to him; on occasions like his birthday, Shera has been given presents including a motorcycle by Mr Khan.
