Noted advocate Prashant Bhusan on Monday hit back at the Supreme Court stating the court should be more interested in the content of the information and be concern whether it is right or wrong rather than worry about the source.

The apex court had earlier during the day directed the advocate to reveal the source of from whom he got the CBI documents.

The document is said to content sources and information regarding visitors to the CBI director, Ranjit Sinha’s residence in a case relating to the 2G spectrum allocation scam and the coal block allocation scam.

The Supreme Court should not worry about who the source is but if the information is right or wrong, Prashant Bhushan said on case against CBI director Sinha.

‘Our argument was, the concept of whistleblower talks of protection of whistleblower’s identity if the whistleblower so wants,’ the advocated noted.

He also said that Ranjit Sinha’s lawyer argued the SC must not hold hearing until the source of inforomation(for entry register) is disclosed.

Earlier, a bench headed by Justice H L Dattu asked Bhushan to name the whistleblower in the sealed envelope on the next date of hearing and said that it will go into the merits of allegations after knowing the source of information, as it may have ramification on the reputation of the director and also affect the ongoing trial in the 2G scam.
