Seven CRPF men killed in landmine blast triggered by Maoists in Chhattisgarh

Seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed after a landmine blast triggered by the Maoists on the vehicle in which these Jawans were travelling in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh.

“All the dead security personnel belonged to the 230 battalion of the CRPF,” said K Kashyap, Superintendent of Police, Dantewada.

Dantewada DIG(CRPF) D. P. Updhayay confirmed that the number of martyred CRPF personnel now is 7.

Mr. Upadhyay said it was an IED (Improvised Explosives Device) blast.

The Maoists managed to take away the weapons of the CRPF men after the blast.

The explosion targeting the pick up van was so powerful that the vehicle was thrown up in the air and its parts were flung in different directions.
