On Tuesday, the Shiv Sena youth wing has staged a protest in Mumbai’s Kandivali area against BJP legislator Ram Kadam for allegedly shielding three party workers who assaulted a police constable on Monday near a mall in Powai. The Yuva Sena of Uddhav Thackeray-led party on Tuesday afternoon gathered at Shiv Sena Shakha in Kandivali and protested against the BJP leader.

Nearly, hundreds of Shiv Sainik have been spotted near Kandivali railway station holding placards and raising slogans against Kadam and BJP party. This comes following an audio clip of a conversation between Ram Kadam and a police constable has gone viral on social media on Monday, in which Kadam urged police to release the accused people.

According to police, “A woman doctor on Monday was driving near a mall in Powai when three bikers allegedly hit her car. As the woman confronted the bikers, she called up the police station. Constable Nitin Khairmode arrived on the spot. After he arrived on the spot, the bikers started beating up the constable and then ran away from the spot.”

After the incident, the police had taken Khairmode to a nearby hospital where his condition is set to be critical.

As per the Yuva Sena, they held an agitation to express support to the police fraternity and said the party will not tolerate such attacks in the state. The party member also cited that the state government needs to take action against Ram Kadam as he is demanding the police to release the accused people.
