A three and a half years old boy was abducted by a neighbour and killed. Boy’s body was recovered in a bag near Ghodbunder Road. Police has arrested 22 year old young neighbor and court has remanded him to police custody till Saturday.
On March 22, Hitesh Choudhary had gone missing from his Kajupada home at Mira Road. The boy was playing outside the house when he disappeared. A missing case was registered with the Kashimira police station. However, on his father’s suspicious kidnapping case was registered later.
On Sunday, the police were informed of smell emanating from an abandoned haversack inside the jungle on Ghodbunder Road in Thane. The black colour bag was seized by the police in which the body of a child was found. The identity matched that of Choudhary. The body was badly decomposed.
The police on investigation arrested a neighbor Gautam Babasaheb Vakle (22). While Vakle confessed to having killed Hitesh, the police have still to know the cause. Hitesh went along with Vakle who promised to buy him chocolates. He took the boy to the jungle and strangulated him. He then put the body in the haversack and dumped it in a secluded place. Locals who use the jungle sensed the foul smell and informed the police.
