Two god men arrested for torturing 28 children in Kandivili

Mumbai police have arrested two ‘god men’ for allegedly torturing and keeping 28 children captive in a house in Kandivli.

The two ‘maharajas’ were taken into custody for illegally detaining those children, all from outside Maharashtra, in a building in Samtanagar area said DCP Kiran Chavan.

The mentioned bungalow is located in Thakur Village and was covered by green cloth from outside, added Chavan.

It has been found that the boys were brought to Mumbai three months ago under some pretext and were held captive.

Chavan also said that the boys had to chant ‘mantras’ and were also beaten up.

Some were forced to stand on one leg for 16 to 20 hours at a stretch and it call came to light when one of the boys called up his parents and narrated the ordeal.

The boys hailing from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Chhattisgarh were rescued on Saturday.

A case has been filed under provisions of the Child Labour Act and sections 420 (cheating), 370 (buying a person as a slave), 323 and 324 (assault) of IPC.
