Two men fell inside a 40 feet deep bore well tunnel at Fanaswadi in Kalbadevi.
Fire brigade officials who rushed to the spot after getting information said, “It appears that the labourers inhaled poisonous gases which generated inside the bore well and turned fatal to them. The bore well is around 40 feet deep having a 2.5 feet diameter.
The two deceased identified as Bhalu Jawle (40) and Vasant Jawle (45). They were rushed to the civic run Nair hospital after being removed from the bore well but were declared brought dead on arrival.
On Sunday morning around 10am, two labourers along with their supervisor began cleaning a bore well located at a chowk of Jawahar Mansion- a ground plus five storeyed structure in Kalbadevi.
The fire protection service was called at 12.17 pm. The rescue team reached the place at 12.30 pm. Both the men were removed from the borewell by firemen.
To rescue the men, the fire officials donned the BA set and used rope ladder and harness and ventilated hazardous gas using Exhaust blower.
