Delhi Police on Wednesday filed chargesheet in Tis Hazari court against Uber cab driver, who is accused of raping a 27-year-old woman and was also alleged to be a repeat offender.

The Police have filed the chargesheet under charges of rape, abduction, threat to life and other several charges. The court has fixed the date of January 2, 2015 for consideration of the chargesheet.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old accused, Shiv Kumar Yadav, has appealed in the court that he needs a government lawyer for his case.

Furthermore, the Delhi High Court has refused to lift a ban on the Uber cab services in the city.

The Delhi government had banned “all activities” by Uber in the national capital after outrage grew over rape of a young woman by its driver. The cab service was also blacklisted from providing transport services in the city in future. Home Minister Rajnath Singh had issued a statement earlier that he has asked state governments and union territories to ban all web-based radio taxis following the rape incident.
