Festivities unite people and the ongoing week saw the ‘sangam’ (merger) of Ganpati, Eid and Mt. Mary festival which overlapped each other and it was truly wonderful to see people participate in each other’s festivals as a one big family. Not a single untoward incident happened and credit goes not just to men in uniform for maintaining law and order but also to the people for maintaining peace and harmony.
In unity lies our strength and communal fabric of our country should never be allowed to be dented by people from across the borders. We are a matured nation today and it is the politicians who divide our country at times for vote bank politics. However, people should display unity when it comes to celebrating each other’s festivals as Almighty is one though we may call him by different names based on our religion. All Indians should be proud of our diversity that we have so many religions, caste, creed, languages etc in our country which makes our country unique and exceptional!
