Lost consistency in Indian Cricket

At a time when Virat Kohli can handover the mantle of captaincy to Rohit Sharma, we can very well understand the confident level of the team playing on home conditions. The battle lines are clearly drawn for the one day and T-20 series before the schedule South African tour. But the only worrying factor is the odd defeats to West Indies in both one day and T-20 matches. At home also we lost to both Australia and Sri Lanka in the shortest form of the game. Thus, the consistency in the game is lost and that may turn into a nightmare when we face tougher sides on overseas tours. Now, we are thinking in terms of number one side tag for the side with so many stars in the side. Having faced the reality of the game in the past we need to focus on consistency rather than on form alone. Rohit Sharma, leading the side, should maintain the consistency as the top run getter in one day cricket. Again the bowling department failed to evince keen interest with the prolonged absence of Ashwin in the side. He mesmerised the batsmen with his top spinners, carrom ball and willing bowler to bowl with a new ball in low scoring matches. Now we rely on inexperience and unorthodox spin that may not be a good mix in hit and run game of Cricket.
