Bollywood star actor Shah Rukh Khan entered a new venture in the sporting fraternity as he bought the Trinidad & Tobago franchise in the Caribbean Premier League.

The star actor, who already owns the extremely popular franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has invested in the franchise with KKR co-owners Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta.

Hollywood stars Mark Wahlberg and Gerard Butler already own CPL franchises. While Wahlberg owns reigning champions Barbados Tridents, led by Kieron Pollard, Butler owns Jamaica Tallawahs, captained by Chris Gayle.

Some of the popular players from the T&T team are Dwayne Bravo, Darren Bravo, Samuel Badree, Kevon Cooper, Kamran Akmal and Johan Botha.

Notably, T&T reached the semi-finals of the tournament last year. The next edition of the tournament is scheduled to run from June 20 to July 26.
