It is really unfortunate that the parking fees in the Airport entrances have been enhanced beyond the reach of both auto and taxi and it is touching a new high. The taxi and auto drivers are finding it hard to digest and the matter is lying with their union for revision and reduction. MIAL levies convenience fee for booking prepaid autos and taxis at the airport and which is exorbitant. On the one hand, the government consider promoting public transport system, but on the other hand, it allows firms to levy such arbitrary charges on those who are using public transport service. The government would like to have the cake and eat it too.
