His rise to the top is also contributed by the factor of him donning the captaincy role at a high level. Moreover, Mitchell Starc, who is the No. 1 ODI bowler showed high intensity in the Test series against West Indies and is expected to lead the attack once again in England.
The Aussies are second in world Test rankings and given their run, they look well in course to topple South Africa and take the crown of the best team in the longer format. The world champions are currently the best ODI team in the ICC rankings.
