Ban on microplastics a right step

Microplastics may be small, but they are causing big problems for our environment and our health. These tiny pieces of plastic used in personal care products are designed to go down the drain and into our lakes, rivers, and oceans by the billions every day causing a drainage block and the resultant floods in the low-lying areas. As per findings that microplastics can be passed from fish to marine top predators is something and BMC have a long thought and the ban on plastic microbeads is on the cards by the month end. The ban is aimed in protecting marine life threatened by microplastics.  The microbead can travel up the food chain to larger fish and through them into the food that you consume.  It is a right step in the direction as the state of Maharashtra could become the first to prohibit the use of microplastics or plastic microbeads mostly used in clothing and cosmetics and need a check in spreading and the ban will bring major relief.
