Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has taken a jibe at BJP by saying that they his party is fighting against Nizam’s father. Raut made these remarks against the saffron party in a programme held at Aurangabad. On the other hand, BJP gave a befitting reply to Raut’s remarks and said that Sena is behaving like a Aurangzeb and it should go for self-introspection. Even though the Shiv Sena is an alliance partner of the BJP government in Maharashtra the party often attacks its partner over various issues. Sena has expressed its unhappiness over the big brother attitude of the BJP after its victory in the assembly polls in Maharashtra. The tug of war between both the parties is likely to intensify ahead of the 2017 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation election. The two are trying to edge out each other in the state, and often indulge in public spats.

In an indirect reference to former revenue minister Eknath Khadse who had resigned from BJP, Sanjay Raut said, “Those who have fought against Sena have bitten to dust. Such type of leaders are either shown the door from the party or have to face imprisonment like Chhagan Bhujbal. Shiv Sena is the leading party in Maharashtra today and it will win 180 seats if polls are held in the state today.”

Raut also attacked the Modi government which had promised to bring achche din for people. He said, “Good days are not visible in Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is only interested in foreign trips and not bothered about the nation’s development. He doesn’t have any time to take stock of the drought situation prevailing in Marathwada. He should visit the region for knowing about the hardships faced by people due to scarcity of water.”

BJP MLA Ram Kadam retaliated and said, “Those who are calling us Nizam are behaving like Aurangzeb and they should first self-introspect. Sena leaders should realise that they are using the red beacon vehicles in the state and centre.”

“It is necessary that both the parties should amicably resolve all issues for the proper functioning of the government. Sena has been behaving irresponsibly. Instead they should work for the welfare of people. With an eye on the 2017 Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation election Sena is trying to project that it performing better than us,” added Kadam.

Shiv Sena has often complained about the BJP for sidelining it on various important functions. This time too BJP had failed to invite Sena leaders on the occasion of inauguration of the newly constructed overhead ticket counter at Kandivali and escalator at Bandra Terminus. Sena MP Arvind Sawant hurled black flags when Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had presided over the function via video conferencing.
