Boris Nemtsov’s girlfriend says was quizzed ‘all through night’ without an attorney

Nemtsovs-girlfriendIn the aftermath of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov’s murder, his girlfriend, who was grilled by authorities, fears that she might be implicated in the case, reports said on Tuesday.

The mother of Ukrainian model Anna Duritskaya, who was Boris Nemtsov’s girlfriend, told CNN that her daughter was under constant “psychological pressure” from the Russian authorities and feared that she might be implicated in the case because they have threatened to take her attorney away from her.

The 23-year-old Ukrainian model was walking with Nemtsov across the Great Moskvoretsky Bridge, near the Kremlin on Friday night, when he was shot dead.

Speaking to Russia’s Dozhd TV station in her first interview, Anna said that Russian authorities had quizzed her “all through night” without an attorney and were not allowing her to leave Moscow.

However, the model has now reached Kiev with the help of Ukrainian diplomats, tweeted Yevhen Perebyinis, a spokesman for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry.
Anna Duritskaya said that she had been his girlfriend for last three years.

Speaking to Dozd TV, she added that she could sense “nothing suspicious” in the moments before her stroll on the bridge with Boris Nemtsov, where he was killed.

“I didn’t see anything. When I turned around I could only see a light-coloured car driving off,” quoted her as telling Dozhd TV.
Nemtsov’s girlfriend added that she couldn’t see the gunman’s face because he came from behind.

Murder of Nemtsov, who was one of Putin’s most outspoken critics, has stirred a hornet’s nest in Russia, triggering a sea of conspiracy theories, many of which obviously point towards Kremlin’s direct or indirect role.

Nemtsov, who was the deputy PM during Boris Yeltsin’s reign, and was about to lead an anti-government rally on Sunday, in which he was about to protest against Putin’s Ukraine policy.

Unfortunately he was murdered and the protest rally turned out to be a mourning march.

According to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Boris was about to reveal some sensitive information that would have damaged Russian interests, Ukraine’s state-run Ukrinform news agency reported.

“Boris said that he was going to make public the strong evidence for participation of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine. Someone was very afraid of that. Boris was not afraid, the executioners were afraid. They killed him.”
