Brilliant Bravo’s swashbuckling innings in the IPL opener against Mumbai Indians set the tournament on fire with a knock that won the hearts of all. However, feels sorry for West Indies cricket whose players prefer to play for IPL franchise for monetary gains than represent their country for pride. Fortunes of teams in IPL games dangle like a seesaw after every delivery making the league a paradise for illegal bookmakers which encourages betting. IPL destroys real form of cricket & the format needs a makeover where countries rather than franchises battle for pride.
ICC & BCCI should intervene so that cricket is played for pride and bookies don’t dictate terms in any league or tournament. Cricket should entertain crowds but not at the expense of the game which should be fair and played in the spirit of cricket!
