Budget 2018 on agriculture

It’s good that the budget has proposed to give the Minimum Support Prices to the farmers but this will shoot up the prices of all the essential, daily needed commodities like wheat, rice, pulses etc. and perhaps also the green vegetables and fruits. The farmers in India are in few lakhs, but the common men, women and children are in crores. The Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should have remembered this national fact while presenting the budget in the Parliament. After all, any budget means proposals and not the final decisions. The Finance Minister has enough time to balance the Minimum Support Prices for the farmers and the sufficiently controlled prices of the aforesaid daily needed essential commodities. The hue and cry made by the jobless opposition should not have been given this much importance at the cost of crores of the other Indians.
