Playing against a formidable opposition Tamil Nadu, Prithvi Shah played into record books by scoring a century on his Ranji Trophy appearance. The teenager’s century on debut guides Mumbai to Ranji Trophy final.  After his first innings failure with the bat, Prithvi came out with a positive approach in the second innings and made a match of it after a risky declaration by the TN side skipper.  It was a matter of time as the Mumbai opener was made to open the crucial moments of fourth day to chase a target of 250 runs on a wearing wicket.  He was confidence personified and made sure that his team achieve the target without hiccups with enough time to spare. He was declared Man of the Match for his heroic innings under adverse conditions.  Like Sachin Tendulkar he showed early promise and like to go a long way in establishing his place in the longest format of the game with confidence and high level of concentration. Mumbai launched Prithvi at the right time and put paid the hopes of a resurgent TN side. Catch them young came true for the young lad and other State Cricket Associations will follow suit to infuse young blood. Prithvi played to plan and played a pivotal role in achieving an emphatic win for the Mumbai side.
