CM asks collectors to focus on water supply to tackle with drought

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the district collectors to concentrate on ensuring water supply in drought-hit areas and take strict action against those engaged in illegal sale of water.

The CM gave the instructions while interacting with 21 collectors via video conference where he also reviewed the drought situation, an official release here said.

He directed the officials to set up a war-room in each district and a 24×7 toll-free helpline number so that people can seek help (regarding water supply, etc).

The Government had already got 69,986 applications for farm ponds (under its scheme in this regard), he said.

He also directed the collectors to submit plans for the implementation of Pradhan-mantri Krishi Sinchan Yojna.
