Both Congress and NCP unite but failed to serve any purpose. They failed to bring a no confidence motion against the Maharashtra government and now failed to corner government in Maharashtra house for the second time and thereby showing their inability to perform together. Instead of targeting the government on one issue and then holding on it for maximum impact, the coalition partners press many issues and failed to provide any substance as in the past. The leadership of both the parties are the weakest at the top and at the state level and thus nullifying the impact of unity between the two parties. By providing a sound base ahead of the Budget session of the legislature with an expectation of sharper political strategy, the combination failed to press any valid claim. The writing is on the wall as both NCP and Congress could not pose any problem to BJP – Shiv Sena combine and appear to be a scratch combination with failed results.
