The cycle symbol is back with Akhilesh Yadav and it is a significant success to Samajwadi party which culminates father – son feud after they had sought Election Commission’s intervention. The Election Commission allotted the “bicycle” symbol to the Akhilesh faction of the Samajwadi Party as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister enjoyed majority in the party’s organisational and legislative structures. The EC concluded that there was indeed a split in the party. Thus it opened up the Pandora’s box and the split is wide open with allegations and counter allegation touching a new high. However, to determine whether to which faction the party symbol should be allocated, the EC had to first decide if there was a split in the party as per Para 15 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, which defines the Commission’s power in relation to splinter groups or rival sections of a recognised party. Now, the cycle will keep moving forward. It is a significant success and make sure that the party cadre backs Akhilesh than supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav. Now that the puncture is plugged to pave way for better prospects of SP under Akhilesh Yadav. The CM of UP is cycling back to the symbol in a crucial move.
