Sex abuse in children goes unnoticed till the matter gets serious and this phenomenon is on the rise in our country. The frustration of people indulging in such crime is really shocking and I wonder what satisfaction they get by abusing a helpless child. Such people surely have mental illness and need the help of a psychiatrist but at the same time need to be put behind bars as they are dangerous for the society.
Parents need to educate and have frank talk with their children on issues of sex and abuse so that they are in a better position to deal with this problem. Teachers too can guide children so that they are better informed on such forms of abuse which otherwise can have lifelong adverse affect on the mental health of people sexually abused in life. The law on child abuse too needs to be strict so that it acts as a deterrent for people indulging in such forms of crime.
Counselling centres both for the abused and those abusing is the need of the hour as sex abuse is a social crime which can really have a bad effect on nation’s peace as well as development!
