FIFA Under 17 World Cup which kicked off on October 6 and being held in six cities including Navi Mumbai is a proud moment for our country. India will play a FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history and that itself is historic. The game of football would get a big boost with this gigantic tournament taking place in our country and one can expect our country’s ranking going up gradually in world football in the years to come.
Our country has the talent but the encouragement was missing. We may be minnows in world soccer at the moment but international recognition on shores can change Indian football for the better in the days to come. Wishing the organisers the very best and hope the tournament in our country is a great success. Corporate sponsorship in soccer would to a world of good to football in our country and India one hopes would compete in world cup and Olympics too in the future in football!
