Photo opportunity with the Prime Minister at his official residence is all what I saw as a reward for our women’s team which lost the Women’s World Cup by a whisker. PM is a very busy person as he has to run a nation of over 1.25 billion population but is it not the duty of the government to give cash awards to Mithali Raj and her team for doing the nation proud in the manner in which they displayed their skills by almost winning the cup? Prime Minister Narendra Modi should announce Rs.1 Crore to each member of the team as a reward for success which would act as a boost for women’s cricket in general in our country. Nita Ambani who owns Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL is an ardent fan of cricket and I request her to adopt the Indian Women’s team which would give a big boost to women’s cricket in India. Noble hearted corporates too should monetarily reward the women’s team for their brilliant performance which won the hearts of all.
