One feels that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the DSS chief deserved more punishment than just the 20 years of imprisonment. However, that he has been sentenced to jail is in itself a huge relief to Indians. There are many such godmen in the country. They should mend their ways and learn from the example of Singh. India needs more stringent laws to deal with people who claim to be spiritual leaders but in reality, abuse their positions.
