India treading the path of development

We are happy to see that our country is developing well through hard work and practice by our defense and paramilitary forces as evidenced in the Republic Day parade. The girls and the ladies are performing creditably and they should be assigned more duties. There are reports about employees of Delhi municipal employees going on strike for the delay in payment of salaries. The civic body has been unable to disburse salaries of employees since last three four months. It is evident that there is lack of discipline among civilians. All high functionaries are stationed at Delhi and such incidents continue to occur. Should we feel proud about it? Shall any one do anything about it or let “democracy” flourish?

We need to construct parking lots for private cars and taxis. Some restriction must be imposed on owning private vehicles. Our cargo carrying trucks are not world class and don’t meet emission requirements. India’s population is rising at a faster pace. Shall we take some steps besides uniform civil code to curtail increasing population? Come April, and we are going to face severe water shortage. Are we taking enough steps to conserve water for eradicating our problems? All those persons involved with solar power generation, storage and use, must be imparted adequate training. Our agricultural production and production of fruits and vegetables must increase. People should develop the habit of eating fish.

Our internal security and political stability needs to be maintained by ensuring that we do not discriminate people on the basis of their religious or caste background. We must ensure that only sycophants are not awarded and merit must be the criterion. Pakistan is our neighbour and it is necessary to maintain friendly relations with them and boost bilateral ties. Are we taking enough steps (through right minded people) for improving the situation and finding mutually agreeable solutions? French President Francois Hollande’s visit to India will boost bilateral ties between both the nations. Hollande’s delegation to India includes the ministers of defense, foreign affairs, economy and culture as well as dozens of top corporate leaders. India and France signed the much awaited deal for 36 Rafale Fighter jets.

The gap between the super-rich and poor must be narrowed down as far as possible but the efforts must be taken and visible. Health and education are very important for the development of a nation. We cannot call ourselves a developed nation unless we are able to drink water right out of the tap. Are we making enough efforts in this direction? These are the issues that need our attention and we must work towards achieving those goals.
