InFocus on Tuesday launched Buddy, a notebook laptop, in India at Rs 14,999. The notebook will be sold exclusively on e-commerce platform Snapdeal.
The InFocus Buddy comes with an Intel Braswell Celeron processor clocked at 2.6GHz. The processor is backed with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB internal storage. The notebook supports expandable SSD internal storage up to 256GB.
The notebook has a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Interestingly, most other notebooks in the price category offer 11.6-inch screen.
The InFocus Buddy packs in a 3275mAh battery. The company claims it can give HD playback for up to 8 hours. The Buddy comes with 64-bit Windows 10 operating system and has 1 year warranty from InFocus.
It comes with two USB 3.0 ports and also supports other connectivity options as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
InFocus India team said, “With InFocus Buddy Notebook, we want everyone to be able to get the experience of a full-fledged notebook for just INR 14, 999, which is still seen as a preserve of high-end laptops. InFocus Buddy is our endeavor to cater to the core needs of youth – Internet browsing, multimedia and portability. The laptop delivers high performance, superior build quality of Foxconn, and a high design quotient while being low on budget.”
The low-end price segment for laptops has been seeing some action of late. Recently, Lenovo launched Ideapad 100s for Rs 14,990. The Lenovo notebook shares almost similar specifications with the InFocus Buddy. However, there are slight differences in the screen size and the type of processor.
