Ahead of Apple’s event next week that is wildly-anticipated to see the launch of the new iPhone – expected to be called the iPhone 6, new details about the unannounced handset have surfaced online.

KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Monday put an end to rumours about the speculated new Lightning cable with reversible ports alongside a new more powerful power adapter for iPhone, claiming that the Cupertino giant wouldn’t make such changes due to “cost concerns and limited improvements to overall user experience.”

Apple Insider obtained Kuo’s note to investors that said, “We don’t expect the USB power adapter and Lightning cable for iPhone 6 to have significant design changes.”

In mid-August, we were first treated with a leaked image that tipped Apple’s next Lightning cable would have reversible USB ports of a different type than the standard Type-C connectors due to hit the market next year. However, another report suggested that rumoured Lightning cable with reversible USB ports might not debut this year, claiming that Apple hadn’t placed orders for the new reversible cable with its manufacturing partners.

In the meanwhile, the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 6 has surfaced in a disassembly video ahead of its expected launch on September 9. The 3 minute 36 second YouTube video by Rozetked shows an alleged iPhone 6 handset in its full glory with a look at the design and internals, alongside a comparison with the iPhone 5s.

Rozetked, who as GSMarena notes is best known for Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 concept leaks, has posted the video that shows a slim iPod touch-like design for the iPhone 6 that is in in-line with numerous previous leaks, including the placement of the power button on the right panel of the device, and longer, redesigned volume buttons on the left panel.

The next iPhone has for a while been rumoured to arrive in two display size variants – 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch – that both feature the iPod touch-inspired design; the Touch ID fingerprint sensor; the new Apple A8 SoC, and the long-awaited NFC connectivity. The new iPhone is also said to cost less than the previous generation, as well as feature higher resolution displays and bigger storage variants (up to 128GB).
