Christmas is just around the corner. It is a season of joy and is celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ. The one who came into this world 2016 years ago is the reason for jubilation even today. This is simply because in Him we get the feeling that God is with us. One of the greatest excitements during the Christmas season is the preparation of the crib. History tells us that it was St. Francis of Assisi who pioneered the making of cribs. In a crib we have baby Jesus, Mother Mary, St. Joseph, angels, the three wise men (Magi), shepherds and domestic animals. There is a calm and serene atmosphere.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). All children innocently associate their gifts with Santa Claus but we forget that the greatest gift that we all got on Christmas Day was our Lord Jesus Christ who was born of simple parents, Joseph and Mary.
