The Bombay High Court directed the setting up of an independent three member committee to be headed by a retired high court judge to study the Kamala Mills fire incident of last year and look into illegal alteration of eating houses and suggest ways and means of averting such incidents in the future.  The genesis of violation at the Kamala Mills by various establishments will be studied considering the original development plans. So, there is light at the end of the tunnel to make a case out of it and find an amicable solution to the various problems arising out of such ticklish situation. The team will comprise of the retired judge, an architect from the high court panel and an individual or retired government servant well acquainted with town planning rules and laws will be taken into confidence. Kamala Mills fire case is one more major fire that crippled Mumbai city in recent times.
