(DySP), Anupama Shenoy-AV
“I have resigned already, Parameshwara Naik, when will you?” Shenoy posted on his Facebook page.

It is suspected that Anupama resigned as she was upset over a protest by a liquor shop owners against the detention of three persons who wanted to construct an extension to the building.

Shenoy had earlier taken to Facebook to attack the liquor mafia prevailing in Kudligi and the alleged protection they were receiving from the Congress government in the state.

She had faced protests from the liquor mafia during her posting as Kudligi Deputy Superintendent before she finally she quit the police force.

It is believed that Shenoy had quit as she was upset with the protests by liquor shop owners against the detention of three persons who wanted to construct an extension to the building housing their liquor shop.

Ballari district-in-charge minister, P T Parameshwar Naik, whose name was linked to pressure brought for her transfer in the past, distanced himself from the current episode. “I do not know whether Anupama Shenoy is a good or bad officer. I have nothing to do with her resignation and as such, I do not feel the need to comment about this development,” he stated. He said that he came to know about her resignation after the district superintendent of police told him over phone and that he does not know about facebook, WhatsApp etc.

Replying to a query at a press meet in Shivamogga on Monday, he said he was no way connected to the matter. He said the Ballari Superintendent of Police informed him that Shenoy had resigned after some people protested against her. “I asked the police officer to take suitable action as per the rules. I am in no way involved in her resignation. So don’t ask the question about the matter.”
