Actor Katie Holmes has donated USD 10,000 to a fund created to help Tony award winner Ruthie Ann Miles who lost her daughter in an accident.
Miles, who is pregnant with her second child, was crossing a street in Brooklyn with her four-year-old daughter, Abigail, when a driver allegedly jumped a red light, killing the child.
The 34-year-old actor was checked into the hospital in critical condition but has since stabilized.
Celebrities and her fans have been donating to a GoFundMe page created for Miles and her family.
Broadway community members including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Platt and Kristin Chenoweth have also donated.
Holmes and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Oscar-winning songwriter of “Coco”, have contributed USD 10, 000 each. Keri Russell, who worked with Miles on FX’s hit series “The Americans”, donated USD 3,000 to her campaign.
The fund has till now garnered more than USD 380,000 in donations.
