Sale of khoya increases tremendously during festive season of Diwali. Often there are complaints of adulterated khoya especially in urban areas. It is evident that practically available supply of khoya required for preparing sweets for Diwali sale cannot be fulfilled through regular milk-supply. Central government should make some rule whereby sale of khoya in urban areas may only be allowed as packaged commodity through organised sector only. Apart from Mother Dairy, there are many state-level cooperative giants like Amul, Sudha and Saras which can market khoya as packaged commodity.
