Form is temporary but class is permanent in Test match cricket. Having played extremely well throughout the year, Indian skipper Virat Kohli must have felt disappointed to see that his name has been left out of Test XI of the year. However, the way he made an impact on Indian batting and made the opposition to suffer for costly lapses on their part, as the classical batsmen made big scores and played a pivotal role in helping his side to win matches with consumable ease. He was confidence personified and by omitting his name in the side, ICC team lost a prolific run getter round the year. Perhaps, the limited period counted for contention could have played against his name and missed out a golden chance of leading the Test side also. However, Kohli is leading the one day side and he is an asset to any side. At number four he was an automatic choice but missed the bus narrowly. Kudos to Kohli for fine performance with the bat throughout the year.
