Padma Vibhushan recipient classical singer Kishori Amonkar passed away at the age of 84 at her house in Mumbai. She was really a legendary in Indian classical vocalist. She is considered to be one of the foremost singers in the Hindustani tradition and is an innovator of the Jaipur gharana, or a community of musicians sharing a distinctive musical style. Kishori Amonkar does not like interviews. Apart from considering them a waste of time, because they take away important minutes from her daily riyaz and teaching.
