Naomi Watts says she feels she is “in a good place” in her life following her separation from Liev Schreiber, adding that “change is always scary.”
The two actors, parents of sons Alexander, 9, and Samuel, 7, announced their split exactly two months ago. They had been together for 11 years.
“I feel I’m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well. Those are my hopes for me and for all of us,” Watts told The Daily Telegraph Australia in an interview published Saturday in what marks her first comments about the split since the couple’s announcement.
“I feel, whether you’re famous or not, transitions are scary for anybody,” the 48-year-old actress said. “I feel like change is always scary, but that’s only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go.”
Schreiber, 49, has not commented on their split.
